Holiday Treats

Here's a sneak-peek at a couple of projects I'm working on. They're "mostly done".

First, a label for a new homebrew release. The name has been left off of this picture, although some of you may find the imagery a familiar refrain. :ponder:

This is a bit of a departure for me. No cartoons. No space ships. Just pure graphic design, meant to convey abstract shapes and rhythm. There's also an intentional division of the label into fourths; and a suggestion of the four directions of the joystick, and the fire button (represented by the AtariAge logo). The manual was quite a challenge to design and co-write as well, since some of the gameplay defies easy description.

And secondly, this is a small part of 1/7 of another project I'm working on. But it's not for a game, and you won't have to pay for it. But it will cost you money to get one. :ponder:

Happy Thanksgiving! :D

I'm guessing it's for those those weird games made by seemo. Can't remember their names and I can't explain them either, but anyone who's played the games knows what I'm talking about :)

Now that joystick thing, I don't have a clue what you're talking about there.

I agree, it must be one of Seemos titles, probably the compilation. What was it called again, "Sync"?

The second I have halfway resolved, it must be some freebee give-away, to meet the conditions. I'm just not sure what it is though. The stick wouldn't work for a poster, so I'd guess it's something like a series of 7 refrigerator magnets?

Wow, love that label! :)

Something different from your other work, as you mentioned, and a complete success!

One can imagine the difficulty to come up with something fitting for such abstract game concepts, and I think you found the golden path here. I find it in the tradition of classic modern (Mondrian, Delaunay, Bauhaus, etc.), and as such a perfect messenger for the combination of pure gameplay and simple graphical elegance found in Simone's games.

The beautyful title logo being the icing of the cake, adding life to the "intellectualy" cool basic label. ;)

Also great to see the homebrew scene continually expanding into new territories, not only regarding the games themselves, but also their presentation and "branding" ;)

Hope to see more homebrewers moving towards building "brand" identities for their work, as seen with the Xype/Cybergoth or Champ games... :)

I see an AtariVox logo! :) Yay!

Without giving too much away, his use of the AtariVox is just as unique as the game itself. It's very different, and a lot of fun. ;)

...good guess! :)
