The 100 TV Show (Spoilers)

Posted by Random Terrain, in TV_and_Movie_Related_Topics 24 May 2017 · 91 views

I'm up to episode 5 of season 3 and it feels like they changed writers at some point. The first season seemed to show that the "Grounders" were territorial rabid dogs who would kill you just because you existed. Then the Grounders got angry in season 2 because a kid from space killed a bunch of them in a village. Grounders were shown to be murderous scumb...

Protection for Bad Home Putters

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 10 March 2017 · 368 views

My sister and I like to go to Putt-Putt , but we usually don't have the extra time or extra money during the days when it isn't too hot or too cold outside. We decided to spend a few bucks and make our own home putting area with a Callaway Kickback Putt Cup and a Callaway Deluxe Putting Mat . The problem is that I don't see in 3D properly, so I'm bad...

If You're Going to Go, Valentine's Day Is Better Than Christmas

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 15 February 2017 · 301 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . My mother died last night about an hour and a half after midnight (about an hour and a half after Valentine's Day). Maybe she held on long enough so she wouldn't die on an actual holiday. According to Wikipedia , Valentine's Day isn't an official holiday anyway, so if you're going to die near a holiday, Valentine'...

Thought I Was Going to Bleed to Death While Getting Ready to See My Mom

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 10 February 2017 · 285 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . My mother has been in a hospice place where people go to die since the last week of January 2017. She was scared and lonely when it got dark outside, so I started staying with her at night and have been trying to sleep for at least a few hours at home during the day whenever someone could find the time to give me a...

Weeks to Live Instead of Months

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 28 January 2017 · 247 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . A bunch of stuff happened since the last time I posted, but I haven't had enough spare time or energy to type it in. Her chemo doctor's nurse called on Thursday (Jan 26) and said that my mother's blood test showed signs that something was wrong, so they called to have an ambulance take my mom to the hospital....

There Is a Spoon and It's No Longer Bending

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 27 December 2016 · 131 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . My mom has been back on half a steroid pill for almost three weeks. Some days are better than others. On the 25th (Christmas day), she used a spoon with her right hand and was able to eat without dropping it or bending the spoon the wrong way. She also used her right hand to screw on a water bottle cap without...

Please Don't Send Flowers = You're Evil! (Simulacrum of Altruism)

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 27 December 2016 · 174 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . I made my mother a new Amazon wishlist in case any of her friends or family members feel like buying her something that she might need or want:

Most of her friends and family members probably won't send her anything now since they're angry that I asked them to send anything bu...

Steroids to the Rescue!

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 10 December 2016 · 195 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . My mom chose to do the short version of radiation instead of dragging it out for six weeks or whatever it usually is. It would have only taken two weeks, but the Thanksgiving holiday caused the days to be stretched out into a third week. She also took a chemotherapy pill called Temozolomide the night before each...

My Mom Is Probably Going to Die Within the Next 12 Months

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 25 October 2016 · 478 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . It has been confirmed that my mom has the bad stuff in her brain. We saw the radiation doctor and the other doctor that handles the special pills on Monday and my mom decided to go through with it since they said the side effects aren't as bad as what you see on TV and in the movies (and the fact that she'd probabl...

Possible Grade IV Glioma

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 16 October 2016 · 290 views

Continued from my previous blog entry . My mother had two CAT scans and a special MRI on Thursday. Then she had the biopsy on Friday. The neurosurgeon said that it could take over a week to find out for sure, but based on his experience, it looks like a Grade IV glioma to him.

The neurosurgeon showed my sisters some images from the latest MRI an...

My Mom Saw the Neurologist Today

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 05 October 2016 · 359 views

If you read my previous blog entry , you know that my mother supposedly had five brain lesions near the back of her brain. That was total bullshit. The people at the hospital probably couldn't read a stop sign. My mother went to the neurologist today and he showed us sliced up MRI images of my mother's brain from two directions. Any person off the street...

Do you know anybody who has brain lesions?

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff 27 September 2016 · 317 views

My mother got an MRI recently at a hospital and found out that she has brain lesions near the back of her brain. I think they said there were five. Rumor is that she got those brain lesions from taking Tramadol , but there is no proof.

She has been slowly getting worse, having trouble speaking (can't find the right words or says the wrong words),...

Our Fart Booth Up in the Sky

Posted by Random Terrain, in TV_and_Movie_Related_Topics 22 July 2016 · 415 views

This was kind of funny. At around 2 hours and 50 minutes into it, Gwen Ifill said "our fart booth up in the sky" on PBS during day 2 of a famous 2016 convention:

LG Blu-Ray Player With Wi-Fi

Posted by Random Terrain, in Product_Reviews 18 April 2016 · 367 views

When I got an Amazon Fire Stick last year, I gave my Blu-Ray player to my mother since my Samsung HDTV only has two HDMI ports. My sister was becoming irritated that I couldn't watch Blu-ray movies, so I thought a good thing to do would be to buy a Blu-ray player that could also play movies and TV shows from Amazon. I could kill three birds with two HDM...

Nice HDMI Switcher With Remote Control

Posted by Random Terrain, in Product_Reviews 18 April 2016 · 230 views

My Samsung HDTV only has two HDMI ports, but I need to plug in three things, so I searched Amazon for HDMI splitters and found out that they are called switchers. The Zettaguard HDMI switcher looked like one of the best ones that Amazon had for an affordable price, so I bought it. The image below shows one switcher on top of another so you can see the fro...

View-Master Virtual Reality Is Disappointing

Posted by Random Terrain, in Product_Reviews 12 April 2016 · 364 views

I tried the View-Master Virtual Reality viewer using an iPhone 5S and the Destinations View-Master Experience Pack . I had to search through a bunch of YouTube videos just to figure out how to open the thing . After getting it set up and snapping in the phone, I was finally ready for an amazing 3D experience.

Seaweed Assault Code Is on the bB Page

Posted by Random Terrain, in Atari_2600, batari_Basic_(Atari_2600) 28 January 2016 · 392 views

It took almost 2 months, so I'm very happy to be done cleaning up the code for Seaweed Assault:

It was tedious work, but I'm glad I did it so it will be easier for me to adapt some of the code for other programs. Now it's time to get Gyvolver finished.

Dream About Video Panels Attached to Walls and Ceiling

Posted by Random Terrain, in Dreams, Personal_Stuff 23 January 2016 · 341 views

In the dream, I was viewing a video at a web site similar to YouTube. A company was pushing their new product; video panels that attach to every inch of the walls and ceiling of a room. The panels could display anything, but the company was promoting their realistic computer recreations of underwater ocean scenes to make you feel like you are standing at...

Perpetual Motion Dream

Posted by Random Terrain, in Personal_Stuff, Dreams 10 January 2016 · 338 views

I was walking around in the backyard of a place I lived in the dream and found a large stainless steel washer or gasket. The outside diameter was around 4 and a half inches and the inside diameter was about 4 inches. The thickness was about a half an inch. It kind of looked like one of the rings below, but it had straighter edges:
