More Didj stuff
After obtaining a complete collection (yes, I even bought the Hannah Montana game. It was in a lot, so I didn't feel as awkward), you'd think there would be nothing left to get. Wrong. I just bought an AC adapter so I don't have to use batteries. Although the hole in the Didj itself says DC instead of AC, but it said it worked for Didjs as well as Leapsters. And there's also a Didj charging station, but that was $30, so I went the more thrifty route and I'm not a completist when it comes to hardware accessories. So I also got a Didj CD-ROM that has a built-in game you download onto your Didj via USB port. I am having a little bit of trouble. What I want to do is put the game onto my website. But I can't have just the game, there's also a LeapFrog Connect Installation program. There were only 3 things on the disc, and I'm assuming that program is somehow incorporated into the Installation program. I wonder if there is any way to extract the program from the program. Sounds a bit weird, I know, but it's stupid. Why not have the game be a separate program, so that years later, people who get a Didj and want to play JetPack Heroes don't need the Connect Installation program? What the program does is track your kids' learning, but I'm not a kid, so I don't need it and I already know the stuff they're trying to teach. I just bought it because it looks and sounded groovy. So now that I have all the games and 2 Didjs (one of which is pink and will be my eventual testing one in case any programs come out that aide people in programming homebrew Didj games. It's probably never going to happen, though.) I'm just waiting for homebrew stuff (that isn't an emulator for some other handheld and is an actual programmed game) to come along. I've shared my dream of GTA on the Didj for irony, but that will have to stay a dream...forever?
