k1nderc0mp
A while back, I stated that if I knew how to program the Commodore 64 then I would know how to make a program similar to Kindercomp. So then the announcement of the ABBUC 10-liners 2015 contest came and that got me wondering: Can I make a program like Kindercomp in 10 lines on the Atari 800? I've started this, and if I don't get it done in time (or forget about it), it'll have to wait until next year. I call my creation K1nderc0mp, using the digits 1 and 0 in the title to signify the number 10, the number of lines I want to use. Right now, it's nothing much, and I doubt it will be since I can only use 10 lines.
The title screen. Isn't it gorgeous? In the end, I hope to have 2 programs. The first one is already done. I have 5 lines left to program the other one in. The first one is called "Numbers." It's similar to Kindercomp's "scribble" game, except the only input in Turbo Basic seems to be numbers. Typing letters gives you an error message. Let's take a look at Numbers, shall we?
Any number up to 10 digits would work. I just said three because I didn't want people using the comma and wondering why 1,000 shows up as 1 (it does that, I've tried it.) So what happens if you type in a 3-digit number and press enter? You'll find out when I am done! For a spoiler, download a Kindercomp program on the emulator and choose the "scribble" game. What is "draw"? Stay tuned. I could put more options in and program them, which I may do when I'm done with the 10-line version. But anyway, yeah, I'm a bit...weird. I wanted the Electric Company DVD from a catalog and mom said "but that's for kids." Oh, and for more Atari 800 fun, check this out: http://www.atari2600land.com/4d/
