Playing with POWAH!

For the first time in I don't know how long, I decided to plug the Atari Jaguar back in and see if it works. I figured it was just laying there on the floor, with a game in it. I figured I might as well test it to see if it worked. So I plugged it in and pressed on. Like magic, it worked. My Jaguar is still alive. Earlier, I worked on my Ants game. My goal there was to reduce the time it took for the game to start up. I found changing the game from a ROM (which it was) to an ABS file did it. But it won't be that way for long. I read once the game gets to 1.9MB I have to start putting things in ROM. Well, my game has 1.7MB. So, yeah...

I don't even know why I work on it because it seems like that SD card isn't going to ever come out. It seems like SaiNT has left the building and isn't coming back. I don't usually purchase $100 things, but if a Jaguar SD card-working cart was at $100, I would definitely buy it, if only to see my Ants game work on an actual Jaguar. Rebooteroids music playing as ambiance in the background. I guess the next step is to go through my Jag games and see what looks good to play. And dream...

It took SainT years to get the Atari LYNX SD card rolling, but that's been out for a year or more now. I believe that he will eventually get the Jag card out, but these things are always more complicated than expected and delays are inevitable.

If you are looking for some sort of writable card for the Jaguar, check out this latest version of the Skunkboard:

I've seen a few folks on the Facebook Jaguar group say that this is a reliable seller. I've had a Skunkboard for a few years and they are terrific.
