Final Fantasy VI Advance

Since I don't know how to play RPGs, and since I got the game just for the sake of collecting, I'm not going to review it. But I will share with you the review of the game in this month's Nintendo Power:

"Way back in 1994...Final Fantasy VI demonstrated to me just how compelling a RPG could be. Between an epic story, a diverse cast of characters, a super refined system, and graphics and music that pushed the hardware to the max, the title set a new standard in its genre. And more than a decade later, the game holds up amazingly well now that it's on the GBA.

"From the controls to the flexible magic system, the game does almost everything right, but topping the list is the inclusion of 14 distinct playable characters. Each one brings something new to the adventure, from the traditional (the ability to steal from enemies) to the unique (attacks via slot machine or fighting-game-style button commands), and all of them are viable team members, most with intriguing back-stories and side quests. The dramatic plot brings the heroes together in a deep but non-convoluted tale that ranks among the best of any RPG, and the detailed visuals translate flawlessly to the hand-held form. Fanatical gamers will appreciate how new content (a few optional bosses and a bonus dungeon) adds even more play value to the incredible quest, while newcomers to RPGs will dig the forgiving difficulty, which lets you keep accumulated experience (but not money or ability points) when you die.

"My two minor complaints are that there's some occasional slowdown, and that the music isn't quite as good as it was on the SNES; it still sounds great considering the GBA's sound capabilities, but the newly added rockin' riffs in some tracks seem out of place. These are small prices to pay, however, for getting one of the most-awesome achievements in role-playing delivered in portable form. FFVI Advance is as close to a perfect RPG as you're going to find on any system."

The reviewer gave it a 9.5 (very close to 10.)

Hopefully I can find either Ghost Rider or Dark Light and play it for next time's review.
