+ Company: EA Sports & THQ+ Release Date: November 1997+ Size: 16 Megabits+ ESRB Rating: K-A(For those outside of the U.S., when I refer to "football", I mean American Football, not "soccer.")Gee, I thought I knew a lot about football. I guess I don't. For instance, what is an audible, and why call it? Well, anyway, I dove right into Madden NFL (no pun intended) even though I had no clue what I was doing. I gave up twice (reset the SNES) after the opposition scored a field goal and I failed to move the ball very far. And I even had it on rookie difficulty setting. It seems like everyone kept attacking me no matter what I did. After a few tries, I finally figured out how to make the play start. I have no idea about setting them up, so I just chose the default settings. With that being said, I think the game is too hard, but, like i said, I had no clue what i was doing. So you may be wondering, why did I play it at all? For the sake of being complete about this blog topic (though I doubt I'll ever get my hands on Harvest Moon, and even if I did, I'd be clueless on how to play it.) If I want to play a video game of football, I'll just stick with Realsports Football for the 2600. It's a lot less complicated and I can figure out how to pass the ball and stuff. But for now, I guess I'll just watch football on TV. It's coming soon, you know. up next: whatever I can get my hands on.

I think if you grew up with the game its a lot easier. At age seven I was able to jump in and score some victories with one of the worst teams in the game who happened to be my favorite (Giants :ponder: ) Did you try out the NFL draft mini games, those are ok ;)

Yeah, Madden games are primarily for football geeks. If you don't know a Post Route from a Zone Blitz, you probably won't do well at Madden games. That said, they are the pinnacle of sports video games and I love them very very much. But, for the casual gamer who just wants to pitch around the old pigskin, stick with Super Football for the 2600 or Tecmo Bowl for the NES
