Cruiz'in Youtube -April 2014

I was cruiz'in YouTube looking for Bubsy sightings and saw some interesting thumbnails of original Bubsy artwork.

The review was by GC9X Post Mortem and the review they gave mostly featured Bubsy versions of the first Bubsy game on the Genesis, SNES, and amazingly the version of Super Bubsy on the PC which was the first Bubsy game with better graphics and animation and extra features, such as the first appearance of the Bubsy cartoon after it was initially shown.

I don't recall Bubsy 2 getting any air time, Fractured Furry Tales (as I like to call Bubsy 3) got a few seconds of mention of the introduction screen, Bubsy 3D was shown, and even the latest Bubsy spoof "Bubsy 3D is Art" released last year.

The focus on the original game however received a fairly balanced review, looking into the value of Bubsy when it was released, leading the way to inspire greater animation detail in gaming that followed. And the review for the modern day was fairly balanced as it is approached from the stand point of "What if this Bubsy game was released as a current retro game?"

And I actually learned quite a lot from this review. Again, was very surprised on how balanced it was.

Pay particular attention to 7:27 of the first video when they give the reason on why they believe the Woolies like messing with Bubsy. Love it!

You can find both parts of the review at these links:

Coming up next month... Bubsy finally turns 21!!

It was a very fair review, but they also explained why I liked it as much as I did. All those little touches with the character, the animation, and the music. I love the music in that game.
