  1. Past hour
  2. I only see some of them here. On another note, it's great to see the games being played and enjoyed with some competition.
  3. I checked both of my System Changers. Both start the game directly and both can be played with the Intellivision controllers from the console. Btw., the game is the new Berzerk Enhanced by Atari which got released with the new Atari 2600+ console. Maybe the serial numbers give you a clue.
  4. Welcome to the community! It's a friendly and fun place. 😊 I have some thoughts and advice, the games you mentioned are mostly licensed from other companies so are unlikely. You also mentioned a reluctance towards buying classic carts, I'd say definitely buy them. Otherwise you will be missing out on lots of games. If you stick to new official releases only you will have a tiny library that won't include the games you are after and you may become disenchanted with the platform. If you jump into eBay you can have lots of fun with classic carts and they will pad out the time between new official releases. Homebrew carts may also be to your liking too. Enjoy!
  5. Recently unboxed my old Atari 130XE, floppy & cassette drives, modem (lol) and games.  I also found my even older Atari 400.  Had to order a power supply off eBay for the 130 as well as video cables.  waiting on shipping...

  6. Hello all, I have a PAL Atari 800XL and I applied the simple s-video mod. Problem is, after about 10 mins the colours start to randomly change. What the hell is going on? I turn off the power and on again and it resorts back to the correct blue colours. Can anyone help?
  7. Improvement for kaboom! After getting really frustrated about not reaching 2k, I changed (for the first time in hsc) my approach to the game. New room, different TV, new playing position. And voilà: 4872 points @Vocelli i'm in the kaboom list twice, please delete my 800 score and update the 1600 to 4872. Thx!

  10. Please check out Stargate 2600, it is amazing close to the defender arcade game but makes use of twinstick controls. The 2600 defender port... well... I sold it years ago when I got hold of Stargate😊
  11. Yeah. Was excited because I could leave the Jag in my livingroom and just use a MiSTer in the office. But, the need for a second RAM module and edgy posts by the core dev left a lot to be desired.
  12. Thanks so much. It's going to be encoding of the source material for anything but the current 80x96 pixel format which will probably prove most challenging for me, but there is no reason whatsoever why different software graphics modes can't be used in accordance with the playback format description in the file header. Yes - in this case, we'll be pulling in a whole cluster at a time (so multiples of 512 bytes), but data alignment doesn't really matter since video and audio data will be buffered ahead. Header will never be mistaken for AV data, and we can have a header size byte in the first sector which just tells us the size of the metadata area and thus how much data to skip when commencing buffering and playback.
  13. surprising it plays as much as it does and hoping to see it finished some time in 2024
  14. It could be a DC/DC converter, it looks like its from the power part of the PCB, you can see the Colls next to it on the PCB... The number on it is not that important because it does not identify it, its a chinese part and why you can not find it by its number, you just need the same type of IC so I know by looking at it its from the power part of the board so looked online for the same type of IC with 5 legs and its looks like a DC to DC Converter, only one I found with 5 legs... https://leeselectronic.com/en/product/11017-ic-lm2704mf-dc-dc-converter-sot-23-5.html Found another one... https://linhkienviet.vn/hx1001sot23-5-synchronous-buck-dc-dc-converter http://www.hxsemi.com/upfiles/201482710951.pdf
  15. Hello Jon Don't all these AVF players load data in a fixed block size? (512kB, 1MB or 2MB?) If that is true, you could use one such block (the first one?) for the header. That should be more than enough. One/first block would, if it's not skipped while playing, only be displayed for 1/50th or 1/60th second. That's shorter than the blink of an eye. Sincerely Mathy
  16. Woke up this morning with the Dead Kennedys' 'Holiday in Cambodia' stuck in my head.  It's setting a certain tone for the day.

  17. Today
  18. Both things crossed my mind, so far I had time to flip the cable seeing that on some genuine products they have ends marked. But seeing high signals on the pins suggests at least those have connection. And yeah, since I received one UAV with the header soldered in front side back, and since my NOS 130XE had (a) one resistor loose, (b) the main power cap reversed, I have very low trust in production quality 🤔
  19. menu is CAPS key if that's what you're looking for

  22. As a „normal user“ I can confirm that everything’s works/loads fine now - „my ROMs games“ load up to 128 KB (Penult).
