  2. Improvement for kaboom! After getting really frustrated about not reaching 2k, I changed (for the first time in hsc) my approach to the game. New room, different TV, new playing position. And voilà: 4872 points @Vocelli i'm in the kaboom list twice, please delete my 800 score and update the 1600 to 4872. Thx!
  3. Please check out Stargate 2600, it is amazing close to the defender arcade game but makes use of twinstick controls. The 2600 defender port... well... I sold it years ago when I got hold of Stargate😊
  4. Yeah. Was excited because I could leave the Jag in my livingroom and just use a MiSTer in the office. But, the need for a second RAM module and edgy posts by the core dev left a lot to be desired.
  5. Thanks so much. It's going to be encoding of the source material for anything but the current 80x96 pixel format which will probably prove most challenging for me, but there is no reason whatsoever why different software graphics modes can't be used in accordance with the playback format description in the file header. Yes - in this case, we'll be pulling in a whole cluster at a time (so multiples of 512 bytes), but data alignment doesn't really matter since video and audio data will be buffered ahead. Header will never be mistaken for AV data, and we can have a header size byte in the first sector which just tells us the size of the metadata area and thus how much data to skip when commencing buffering and playback.
  6. surprising it plays as much as it does and hoping to see it finished some time in 2024
  7. It could be a DC/DC converter, it looks like its from the power part of the PCB, you can see the Colls next to it on the PCB... The number on it is not that important because it does not identify it, its a chinese part and why you can not find it by its number, you just need the same type of IC so I know by looking at it its from the power part of the board so looked online for the same type of IC with 5 legs and its looks like a DC to DC Converter, only one I found with 5 legs... https://leeselectronic.com/en/product/11017-ic-lm2704mf-dc-dc-converter-sot-23-5.html Found another one... https://linhkienviet.vn/hx1001sot23-5-synchronous-buck-dc-dc-converter http://www.hxsemi.com/upfiles/201482710951.pdf
  8. Hello Jon Don't all these AVF players load data in a fixed block size? (512kB, 1MB or 2MB?) If that is true, you could use one such block (the first one?) for the header. That should be more than enough. One/first block would, if it's not skipped while playing, only be displayed for 1/50th or 1/60th second. That's shorter than the blink of an eye. Sincerely Mathy
  9. Woke up this morning with the Dead Kennedys' 'Holiday in Cambodia' stuck in my head.  It's setting a certain tone for the day.

  10. Both things crossed my mind, so far I had time to flip the cable seeing that on some genuine products they have ends marked. But seeing high signals on the pins suggests at least those have connection. And yeah, since I received one UAV with the header soldered in front side back, and since my NOS 130XE had (a) one resistor loose, (b) the main power cap reversed, I have very low trust in production quality 🤔

  15. As a „normal user“ I can confirm that everything’s works/loads fine now - „my ROMs games“ load up to 128 KB (Penult).
  16. Looking at the images in AGSP and I found 2 image that are for the Arcade 1up - Atari 10-1 Couchcade... weird... 🤔 There are in miniGUI folder, `\minigui\res\images`My Arcade could of used it as a starting point so as a idea so where the idea of AGSP came from, would make sense. )
  17. I posted this on southernamis but thought I would throw it here. Saw this on fb. Not sure of the rarity of it but if it is rare we might want to reach out to the person. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/T4xoaQbm3k7ra3rz/?mibextid=K35XfP
  18. I guess you could: i) Double check the 10 pin cable is good ii) Open the blaster and check for any stupid soldering issues etc P.S. TDI should be going low. e.g. if IDCODE is sent: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683207/current/supported-jtag-instructions.html https://medium.com/@aliaksandr.kavalchuk/diving-into-jtag-protocol-part-1-overview-fbdc428d3a16
  19. Where does one find these high scores? Do I need to log into some form of social media?
  20. Why were the forums down last night?  I was able to get to other parts of the site, but not the forums.

😂 it happens. It was down for a very short time, sometimes it's maintenance, sometimes the host has issues, no big deal. As someone who drops in several times a day since 2006 I can say a few minutes of downtime is literally nothing. You've been a member here even longer than me, you should know this.

If I'm not mistaken, the forum is hosted by other servers/systems than the main AtariAge site. Thus it could happen that one system temporarily is down while the other still are working.

  22. I did this with a RPI1 and put it inside a Mega Drive and Mega CD cases, I downloaded the version of Retropie with Attract Mode so I could change its GUI and add videos of the games, Mega CD games videos mainly and run them at full screen so it looked like it was running the game by itself, this was before the ATGames MD(2017) and MD Mini was invented.
