  2. You could always go over a friends house and ask them if you can borrow their Windows comp for a little bit to get the update if you need it ahead of any official support for those platforms.
  3. @Titan.IO it's been resolved. It's a normal function to prevent CRT screen burn in BITD, called attract mode. Kinda like the original screensavers. Just press any key on the keyboard to get out of it. @Stephen picked up on this one heh heh. Also, probably not worth you cross posting the same question over 3 x threads.
  4. Red Viper's pretty slick, posted about it on March 6th after I'd installed it. They've made a number of improvements to the emulator since then, such as adding the ability to use the physical controls to navigate the file browser and running the 3DS's display at the Virtual Boy's 50 Hz refresh rate (which eliminates judder). I'd already jailbroken my 3DS back in 2022 after learning about @wavemotion's awesome StellaDS emulator. It's for the DS, but runs just fine on the 3DS : and A7800DS (Robotron plays great with the 4 buttons mapped as the second joystick): I really like how he's used the 2nd display as the console interface. He has 7 emulators available on his GitHub page, the others are ColecoDS, NINTV-DS (Intellivision), DS994a, A8DS (Atari 8-bit computers), and A5200DS One thing I found useful was to install an FTP server on the 3DS. That lets me add/update files to the SD card without having to remove the handles that block my SD card slot. I'd snapped those on as my hands would cramp without them. This reply in the StellaDS topic goes into the FTP server.
  5. We must consult the sacred scripture (manuals) to see what Atari have to say on these two games!
  6. ha ha - I didn't clock the op was referring to Attract mode heh heh!! 🤣So focused on troubleshooting it's easy to completely overlook a normal hardware/os function.
  7. @Beeblebrox 4 according to AI palette: NTSC! I divided the image to 5 fragments. Each fragment had an unique palette limited to 24 colors! I was thinning it would somehow help rasta converting.... @drpeter, what do you think? A good idea? GravityWormBeeblebrox_4_NTSC.xex
  8. That would've been nice. Perhaps they used something like that and there was a graphical limitation. According to this website Gymnasium Documentation, it's a magic wand. You are an elf and must use your magic wands to fend off spiders, fleas and centipedes. Your goal is to protect mushrooms in an enchanted forest. If you are bitten by a spider, flea or centipede, you will be temporally paralyzed and you will lose a magic wand. The game ends once you have lost all wands. You may receive additional wands after scoring a sufficient number of points. In Millipede, you play as the Archer. This is from Wikipedia: The player no longer takes the role of the "Bug Blaster" from Centipede, but instead takes the role of an elf called the "Archer". The object of the game is to destroy a millipede that advances downward from the top of the screen.
  9. I suspect Douglas Adam's took the name for his book character back in the 80s. Interesting.
  10. @Beeblebrox 4 according to AI palette: Altirra Took a lot of effort making this images (there is also a NTSC one) I tested something doing it GravityWormBeeblebrox_4.xex
  11. Paddle Week 2! A Great Game with GI Joe! And a never played game of Steeplechase.... should be interesting. (I imagine Steeplechase would be a great game with friends and family)
  12. I have a question about bumper bash and the difficulty switch settings, as I have been experimenting and cannot tell the difference in gameplay or scoring no matter how they are set. Decided to take a look at the manual and turns out it says nothing about game variations based on the switches or any effect. So I started googling and came across the records page for the game on Twin Galaxies. It says "Difficulty switches have no effect in this title and can therefore be left in either position." So now I am wondering if my earlier game that I posted about (post shows five balls remaining due to bonus ball - I have another pic with score after that ball used), that I thought was a result of switches in the wrong position, should be submitted.
  13. So this is the Beeblebrox we all know from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, and the reason for my AA pseudonym/moniker (I am a massive HHGTTG fan - the author Douglas Adam's was a genius!!): Zaphod Beeblebrox - galactic president https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaphod_Beeblebrox and one of the many fantastic entries in the HHGTTG:

  15. Mike already beat the Kart Tag score. 😲 We are now at the point in that game that only almost perfect runs will be posted. I think 250.00 is possible but it would have to be perfect meaning zero tags missed and close to zero obstacles hit. In any event, it's a pretty cool game... I've only played option 1, Standard.... With the Random race I'm guessing lower times would be possible based on getting a favorable RNG? 🤷‍♂️
  16. Alright followup... BOTH CD GAMES WORK NOW! So despite the two known SD cards (U1 rated) working with the other disc images I've tried, I decided to try a U3 rated SD card and Vid Grid and World Tour Racing came right up without issue. I'm surprised that I was surprised by this. Seems like upgrading the rating of your SD card is the solution to like half the problems people have.... so finicky! but hey thanks for the firmware update!
  17. The top Qubist for our opening round is jblenkle, nicely done Joe! Thanks to everyone that partook in this potty mouth jumping event!
  18. I did not know back then what a Beeblebrox is so I could not aid Ai and choose better ones. But when you told me I started to make bi-headed Beeblebroxes images... Many of them to come Some in dual palettes (altirra + ntsc! )
  19. Yes 🙂 and hopefully I will be better at May's game.
  20. Atari Commandment Number 1: Thou shalt always RTFM 💁🏻
  21. Can you share the model/name/manufacturer/seller of your replacement of adafruit module? Thank's in advance.
  22. Well, whatever it is this is what it's supposed to look like: And this is the 2600 version: 🤣 They could have at least cut some pixels from the corners... Or did they use the ball or a missile sprite and there was a tech limitation or something?
  23. Do you have a link for this? I tried searching the proxy sites but nothing came up. We actually have to use the third party sites because direct links to Yahoo Japan do not work, due to geo restrictions I think. I guess one could use a VPN but that is why the articles use those third party links.
  24. Captain Cosmos disassembles Colecovision games and has checked out Q*Berts Qubes but was not able to find the cause of the famous lockup for Qubes.
  25. The player sprite is supposed to be a bug blaster. This is from Wikipedia: The player controls the small insect-like creature called the Bug Blaster. It is moved around the bottom area of the screen with a trackball and fires small darts at a segmented centipede advancing from the top of the screen through a field of mushrooms. Also, yes to both those games on a single cart.
