  1. Past hour
  2. I wish $600 was half-month's rent... The real reason the game continues to be so expensive is that people buy it at that price.
  3. Any Intellivision fans planning on attending the CORGS show in Ohio? Post if you are attending! Two Intellivision booths will be set up for this show. 1. Intellivisionaries Booth (Hosted by Rick Reynolds) 2. IntellivisionRevolution Booth (Hosted by Hatman) A few new Intellivision games will be there as well. Have a good show. Official Website: https://www.corgscon.com/
  4. My times for the week: Intellivision: Flapee Bird - 3 min. Frog Bog - 3 min. Stampede - 15 min. 3DO: The Perfect General - 26 min. Jakks Plug & Play TV Games Disney 5 in 1: Lilo & Stitch: Stitch's Search for Paradise - 27 min.
  5. Changing ownership is not the same thing as going entirely out of business and then having an entirely separate entity buy its assets and then rebrand. Disingenuous comparison.
  6. I misread the internet... the command to try, for installing the libftdi requirement of xc3sprog, is : sudo apt install libftdi1 ( a '1' one at the end of the package name )
  7. No, it's not like buying a store. Because Atari went completely out of business and was completely shut down. Then someone bought its assets out of bankruptcy and tried to pretend it was a continuous operation, but it wasn't. The new Atari is a different entity entirely that decided to change its name after the original Atari died. Just like the company currently calling itself the Arena Football League has nothing to do with the original league which ran from 1987-2008, nor the second incarnation that ran from 2010-2019. They can call themselves whatever they want but the real Arena Football League had games on NBC and ESPN, the had teams which shared ownership with NFL and NHL teams, they played in major league arenas, guys were making 75,000 bucks per year in the late 90s and early 2000s. The modern league will be lucky to finish this season, they promised their players 1000 bucks a game and then cut it to 250 and most teams are still having trouble making payroll, you've never heard of any of the owners, some of their venues aren't even large enough to accommodate a full size field or their goalposts or rebound nets, and they don't have a TV deal because they bought airtime on NFL Network then bounced a check to the NFL. But they do have the Arena Football League name and logo, and they pretend that makes them the Arena Football League. But people who watched the real league know the difference, and Atari is in the same boat.
  8. Yeah, I briefly read that back a decade ago but never tried. But looks interesting a glitch to break out of basic
  9. I had fun recreating these 40-year-old labels for my new collection. I bought a couple of carts with reproduced labels on Etsy. They were so badly done, that I had to build them myself in Photoshop. Then I continued. 😂
  10. I am thinking my issue is that my CPLD is not blank. I read a post where xc3sprog has an issue erasing a chip sometimes. I will try with an actual Xilinx programmer I found on Amazon unless someone has a better example and try to get that going. Thanks for your help! I will also check the cable lengths and my soldering job and report back my progress.
  11. I think my analog sticks work pretty good for breakout, but I was just too busy. Never got around to sitting down and plugging it in and playing. Oh well.
  12. Yep, I saw that It was working fine when I posted those and 2 years ago when I tried the Incognito with it. Since it didn't work with that, I tried it in a stock 800 and it worked then too.. Must have been the different CPU as to why it didn't work for you on the first try... But good to see it's working for you now
  13. From: Gold Star Team (our dev group renamed) Notice: StreetKings is on hold. It will be developed at some point; just not right now. The Mountain King has been scrapped, pending a redesign overhaul. Sensitivity (a puzzle game) and our second project are both being worked on as I write this. As far as I know, there will be NO Kickstarters for either project. Sensitivity is a puzzle game that will be coming to the NeoGeoCD. While the game is still in development, here is the Commodore 64 version to give you an idea of how it plays, but not how it looks or sounds on Neo Geo. @Charlie Cat @shane857 Join our official X page for updates! 14. I sympathize, thought you had it wrapped up. But I am curious -- how do you know you could get an even higher score? No matter how many techniques I tried (including going for an immediate E scores of times) it always seemed to me like the game was largely luck/chance. I never got over 130k except for my highest score, which occurred in my first 10 minutes of playing. One thing bumper bash did though is inspire me to plan on getting a real table someday to enjoy the genuine physics...
  15. Hopefully we'll soon have full blueprints as there is somebody, in the 1090XL Facebook Group, that has access to one and is planning to take precise measurements.
  16. Yeah, I'm not in a position to test at the time of my reply, or today for that matter. And I did not try to imply that was on the wiki. But the previous errors being shown to me were only achievable from a 2 year outdated wiki page. Now we know that the current page is wrong too, and will soon be outdated.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm glad you like the code generator, I put a ton of effort into it. BTW, now there's the book on CVBasic: Programming Games for Colecovision (250 pages, paperback) available from lulu.com and I also have made a preview video.
  18. Now that's an amazing piece of code! Well done! 👏
  19. whoa that is so close to the max; I cannot imagine doing anything requiring that much intense screen focus! Do you take extended breaks between levels or would that wreck the rhythm?
  20. God forbid any of us say that (i.e., speak the truth) though, because we are labelled as haters. If they fail, it will then be our fault.
  21. I'll second the GBA even if it's not a 'console-console'. For a long time this was my favorite system. There's a varied library, region free, lots of fan translations and homebrews, and flash carts for it are coming back in style. Its library is a nice compliment to the style of SNES/Genesis games but adds considerably more horsepower to the mix. Also don't underestimate the joy of digging through a big sack of loose carts looking for the right one. since there are so many hardware options, I'd recommend getting something a little special/hipstery, like: Analogue Pocket (obviously offers 'some' additional functionality) 🙄 a Game Boy Micro for a great screen, on just the tiniest little funster. (my eyes are now too old to use these) a game boy 'macro' (a DS/DSL with top screen removed, aliexpress sells them cheap) an IPS-modded original unit (watch for latency on some mod kits) There are also modern consolizer kits that I confess I don't have experience with but look neat.
  22. Today
  23. Was starting to wonder if everyone's analog controllers broke😟 - got to admit, as much as I think they are assets rather than disasters needing redemption, the joystick I was using couldn't move the paddles all the way to the right wall when they were in shrunken phase and it was pretty annoying. Almost switched to trak-ball.
