  1. Past hour
  2. I sent an email at 12:34 on 26th April to the sales@ address. I’m not disputing the quality of your orders, or the time you put in. I was very clear to say that I am sure everyone is fine with waiting, as I am, as long we know what’s happening. It was the total lack of communication about these orders in particular that was the most frustrating. Obviously I know it’s not a scam, and I know you would never scam people, but what is about someone who didn’t know how things are at AtariAge and what the wait times can be?. If they just stumbled across the site with no prior knowledge, placed an order and then heard nothing for six months, do you not think they could potentially start to get quite concerned. This is why the communication is key. All people want is to know what’s happening. This has been the crux of the frustration many have, having no clue what is happening or when anything is likely to ship.
  3. That's a very important point. Something I've touched before here. MOV *R2,R2 ; Fetch value pointed to by R2 to R2 MOV *R3,R3 ; Get pointer to next block Unless you're learning how the different instructions and addressing modes are working, the first comment is worthless. It just tells you what the instruction does. The second line's comment instead tells you what the purpose of using the instruction is. Here to traverse a linked list where the pointer to the next item is first in the current one.
  4. This past week I played: Renegade for NES - 13 minutes Super Mario Bros. for NES - 35 minutes Super Mario Bros. 2 (J) (aka The Lost Levels) for Famicom Disk System / NES - 29 minutes Zelda 2024-2 by Jim B. (Hack) for NES - 173 minutes Zelda 2024-2 by Tim D. (Hack) for NES - 198 minutes Zelda 2024-3 by Jim B. (Hack) for NES - 338 minutes X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse for PC - 929 minutes Progress: Renegade, then Super Mario Bros. - I got a scrambled screen when starting my NES which is less common these days, and I had my Powerpak inserted so I decided to record some gaming and played Renegade on difficulty 1 to see if I could complete it like that. Then I played through the first quest of Super Mario Bros. I succeeded at both. Super Mario Bros. 2 FDS - I tried to keep playing with a scrambled screen even though this game is more difficult. I got pretty far but the game started recovering as I played and I decided to quit before finishing. Zelda hacks: I completed Jim's 2nd and 3rd games. I mostly completed Tim's 2nd game that he finally gave me, but saved and quit because there was a glitch with Ganon. He said he fixed it and sent the fixed copy to me so I will try again sometime, using my same save file and see if it works. X-Men Legends II PC: I started a new game on a clean install of X-Men Legends 2 and played all the way through Easy mode, unlocking Iron Man and Deadpool. I mostly used a team of Cyclops, Iceman, Jean Grey and Wolverine to complete it more quickly than when I constantly switched characters to use them all on PS2. [The graphics are better on PC by far, and on newer faster PCs the loading times are almost nonexistent.] Then I cut and pasted my install and save to an external drive and copied my first modded install over to program files and started a new game. For this second playthrough, I am mostly using the MarvelMods character Angel by their forum member Enigma, which is the community's newest version of that character. I made it to the beginning of Chapter 3 and have mostly had Cyclops, Iceman and Beast (another mod by Enigma) as Angel's supporting team members.
  5. It will be a free game, like all my retro games. Anyone knows who the composer of this is? https://asma.atari.org/asmadb/#/Unknown/Ranger3.sap
  6. I’ve ordered 2 games from limited run before and waited a year for them, but I knew this when I placed the order, it told me it wouldn’t ship for a year. They are very clear about the release dates. This is different, the new release pre orders stated, and still did last time I checked, that they would ship in two to three months.
  7. Obviously I know my order will arrive eventually as I have ordered before, but what if I had just stumbled on the website, new nothing of AA and decided to just put in an order and then heard nothing for 6 months, can you not see that some people might start getting concerned if they didn’t know any better?
  8. As long as you want. The objective of the game is to get as far as possible. It is about consistency and not top speed. The 2 players version is the same game, with some changes to accommodate 2 players (listed on the QR code page). I recorded several videos for the first game. It is not the final version but is close (No score screen, small color change and no multiple cars). The video bellow explains all the game mechanics. The other videos drive deeper on all options and also the technical part of implementing it. It should provide you all explanations you want. I might record one for the 2 players version one day in the future...
  9. I can log in and look at mine too, and the status hasn’t changed since the day I placed the order. I have not received a single update email about my pre orders.
  10. *Sigh* It's Monday. :D

  17. Today’s RTFM game is Asteroids. OK, you probably read that and thought hmm, come on Jet, this is the simplest game to understand, you press fire and say bye bye to an asteroid, rinse and repeat. Well, yeah. But I am not talking about the general gameplay here, I am talking about a couple of the 2600’s best features, game variations on most carts and the difficulty switch settings. Most of the many many hours I have played Asteroids has been on the default settings of game 1. This mode is a great way to play it, particularly if you have OCD. Clean up the screen, ooh look, more mess, clean it up. Eventually I get bored and turn the game off. As a kid I do remember flicking through the 66 game variations, but do not ever recall RTFM, so I think I just occasionally arbitrarily played a game number, but 99% of the time played game 1. I don’t recall exactly but I may never have seen shields or flip modes more than once or twice. Most of my time playing VCS games back in the day I would also play with the difficulty switches set to B, they were rarely, if ever adjusted. I don’t remember if I knew that B was beginner or if it was just how my older brother had them set and that was how I learnt to play. Due to this in my childhood I NEVER played Asteroids on the 2600 with satellites and UFO’s! I grew up assuming that they were not in this version! I was very young when I first played Atari, so put it down to DYK, Dumb Young Kid syndrome. So I can announce that after I have educated myself I am currently a difficulty A, game 10 guy. This is much harder than how I played the game for the last 43 years and is a breath of fresh air. As I get better I will switch to 12, 14 then 16. How do you play? Another thing from the manual, hold Game Select and Game Reset down to quickly move through the game variations. I wonder if this works in other games too?
  18. Since @newtmonkey is giving us great insight how the game works and feels, I thought it would be a great excuse to check out the magnificent box art that accompanies this game. Shin Megami Tensei Just oozing of dark atmosphere. The heroes (I'm presuming) are pictured in brighter attire and your eyes are initially drawn to them. Looking at distance, the rest is a bit murky as it's shaded so dark. It's only when looking at it more closely, one can see all the entities lurking in the shadows. Such a brilliant cavalcade of demons and mythical beings. This is a touched up version of the cover, removing the upper part of the box & text and leaving only the artwork, that I found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Megaten/comments/wnbbum/cleaned_smt_1_snes_box_art/ Atlus did release two more Shin Megami Tensei games for the SFC but the covers on those pale in comparison to the awesomeness of the first one.
  19. In THT Pirto, other suspect is the SDcard module. For testing it, you should compile and run the "SDcard info" example program bundled with Arduino IDE SDK for Pico, but i must admit it's more a test for power users....
  20. Sounds the same as in Furnace Tracker. This tool is the best music creation tool for the 2600/7800 I have seen. Thanks for creating the rom export.
  21. Also CMC is using several of these key combinations: ... But why don't you then assign like whole line of keyboard keys and use whatever works? I'm pretty sure there will be barely noone else doing what you are, so I would not take care about SW I don't use.
  22. Congrats! Eight Ball is an all-time classic in my book. Wish I could own another (I don't now).
