Thanks for everyone's input. I might have had a cold solder joint that caused the bad picture. What I ended up doing was removing the components from Best Electronics kit and installed a Vintage Gaming and More circuit board. It required less modification to the motherboard and no components are left suspended in the air. The picture quality is now fine. I did keep the cable that came with the kit so I didn't have to drill into the side of the unit.

New(ish) 7800 Games and Accessories Giveaway

I would like to see a trackball and trackball compatible re-releases of Centipede, Millipede and Missile Command. -
Fair enough - each to their own. I am a big supporter of stock Atari video/graphics and sound capabilities too. (Aside from RC images obviously, you only have to look at the likes of Albert, Atariblast, The Last Squadron, Final Assault, RGB, ADoom😍, Time Wizard, Mikie, IK RCX, etc etc, for amazing stock A8 graphics - not a VBXE in sight!) Although with regards to Heartlight - as I posted above - there is a standard A8 (non VBXE version) of it, (the greyscale one). I've no issue with VBXE and have one in my Atari 800 - yet I'll always be an Atari stock graphics chipset first kinda guy. Games that are pushed to use all the tricks of the original graphics chips - and still look amazing - are the ones I get the real kick from first. I mean look at this - IK RCX - gorgeous :

Atari 2600 Kaboom! - 570 minutes I tried so hard to better my score for the HSC, but as it turns out I didn't need to. -
I do not support VXBE. It's a overkill. IMO Atari 800/400 is good enough. A lot of colors! Huge palette! good enough IMO And if we make cartridges for Atari 800/400 cheaper 48kb RAM will be more than enough. "Best technology for lowest price" - JT The game "The Children" has also awesome bright colors, with no VXBE!
-
A launcher for a SD cartridge based on that would be cool.

[roms] cartgroup=2 cartidx=1 changed from 0 to 1 WORKS!! Thanks for tolerating me you guys!! This was a user error on my part...I've typed so much...worked in gimp for hours on end...and it was a simple number being 0 or 1.

Just curious about sprite management by scanline in bB standard kernel... is it possible? Other than color when those options are enabled for p0/p1, is it possible to change things about a sprite line by line? For example, if you wanted to move a multi-line ball or missile to institute a shift/bend (like in my profile picture with the reaper's scythe) or if you wanted to make a player sprite double wide for added size but just for a couple lines (like in Kung Fu Master to extend the players leg beyond the typical 8 pixels in order to kick).

They are just a set of 4 independent resistors in one device. They can go up-down or down-up, it doesn’t matter. Similarly for the capacitor networks. On my boards the silkscreen didn’t come out very well, definitely had to refer to the brd file.

A8PicoCart - UnoCart on a Raspberry Pi Pico
electrotrains replied to electrotrains's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
@madness77, @phaeron thanks for the input. Yeah - these seem to be the relevant lines of my code: #define CART_TYPE_WILLIAMS_64K 15 // 32k/64k if (car_type == 8) { cart_type = CART_TYPE_WILLIAMS_64K; expectedSize = 65536; } if (car_type == 22) { cart_type = CART_TYPE_WILLIAMS_64K; expectedSize = 32768; } So we do appear to have incorrectly 'typed' car files, but it would probably be best if I just updated the code to accept either if this is common. This is exactly the same code as the UnoCart firmware, so its interesting this has taken so many years to come up 🙂 Will update the code when I get a spare minute, Robin- 598 replies

(There is no mention of AMS mode in the pdf. Is this a reference to sams?) I just did a drag n drop of the bin. 2xxxxx ...ain't the right line for what I was doing just saw the 16384 which is 4000 in hex. killercater.bin

I don't know if it's because I'm emulating a window's environment in linux or what but on mine I can't scroll in the left pane nor is it resizable.

Why is 'Snow Brothers' so expensive?
MrDave replied to 199211's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
Availability.. Quality of the game..trends.. If your system has the best version of the port..then it becomes more popular.. if people say ..oh you gotta play Penguin kun wars on the msx..it's the best.... well that goes up in value then Anyway. I'm glad you got the game you wanted.. i am sure it feels different than playing on emulator.. -

People are far less different than you can imagine. i too liked action games as a kid. Same as you! i did not get better in playing action games because i basically need a service dog (how do you call such dog in UK?). I need a dog because my eyesight is not OK since kindergarten... i played a lot logical puzzle games. So I started to like them! I plan to find all Atari 800/400 games and try to play them i play computer games since... It was so long ago I do not remember... Maybe in 1990? As far i remember i did try to play Rockford (PC CGA) a lot! I tried my best and sucked (US English... 😜 ) in it badly, like in almost all action games including action-platform. in those times i did not have many games so i tried harder than ever... i tried many times to play Boulderdash... Last time like 1-2 years ago

I still don't have the boards, but I was reviewing the PCB layout and orientation of parts and just want to make triple sure - even though there are dots on the silk screen, the orientation of all RNs does not matter, correct?
