  1. Past hour
  2. It took me a while, but I finally have all -3- of the Ishar series for the ST. I love RPG's and never had the opportunity "back in the day" to play this particular series. I did dabble around with the Ishar versions for the Falcon. I'm looking forward to doing a play through. I don't remember it from before but the game boxes say both the Amiga and ST versions have 32 colors. Onward and forward...!
  3. Right. One dedicated cable goes directly to the ST's serial port. The others have the jacks that plug directly into the DC-Port. The docs emphasize *not* plugging phone lines directly into it. Then you plug your RS-232 devices into the connectors at the end of those lines. Modems, WiModem232's, etc. You can see the cables in the pictures I posted. HTH's.
  4. Censor a little fowl language and the post gets closed.

  6. I have the ZIP archive of the DC-Port disk. It includes the AUTO folder with the programs in it. I'll attach it here. DC Port Disk.zip

  8. Yeah, when I said "lift" I really meant extract and use the content and layout as the basis for a close facsimile (e.g., during prototyping it may simply be a crude, lossy, conversion). That's my preference, and the images you show are more in line with what I imagined - and I am not, personally, likely to be able to do nearly as good a job. That's very generous, and much appreciated! I'll post some of my basic ideas etc. once I put the "blog" up. I am thinking of this as more of an inspired adaptation/play-a-like than a direct "port". For example, I have different ideas about how to tackle the hunting and river crossing sub-games, some specific thoughts on how trading will work and what the UX will be for that, a desire to make it a 100% "10 foot" experience (no need for a keyboard, can be played from the couch with a joystick), and so on. More to come ...
  9. Easy to build a new one. You can just wire up a bunch of 1% resistors in the right pattern to the PIO connector.
  10. I had a Digi-Port in the 90's but did not find much use for it back then. It got lost in a move and did not really miss it. Until now πŸ˜„
  11. Is there any way to hack the board to get it working? Then you could, hopefully, only need 2 board revisions.
  12. Does the people working the experimental build have any visibility as to whether touchpad/keypad support is coming on the updates?
  13. Neither a seizure nor an expenditure of the Miami Beach Police Department, but provided by Braman Rolls-Royce of Miami. Funny, a buddy of mine used to be a tech there a while back. He was good and made bank, getting flown around the world to do work. I am not quite sure how this is going to help recruitment.
  14. Didn't work for me, my sdrive expects an atr file I think
  15. Today
  16. Update: After the experience with the XF551_B I decided to recheck my 1450XL schematics for the current prototype and discovered some errors against the loaned board truth. And I'm not finished yet. Some are mine. Others appear to be coming from the original batch of schematics. Not sure if Atari engineers made some changes on the loaned board version and they didn't get into the version of schematics I have or what. So assembly of the prototype has stopped. It isn't going to work anyway. Not a complete waste of time and money. I was going to have to check part fit and make some footprint changes anyway. For now I am focusing on trying to verify my schematic against the board truth. All several thousand part holes.......πŸ™ƒ
  17. Likely they had to do not a thing to the Supercharger or their console. Several have posted throughout the years of the Supercharger fitting and playing just fine - including some individuals utilizing multiple 7800 consoles without issue. Here are a few examples: https://forums.atariage.com/topic/117221-just-grabbed-a-7800/#comment-1419095 https://forums.atariage.com/topic/74550-fell-in-love-with-the-7800/#comment-912879 https://forums.atariage.com/topic/14673-supercharger-compatibility/#comment-147016 Not denying your experience or what was necessary to make it work (fit) for a particular console; however, the need to modify the plastic cartridge sleeve is not an absolute must for all units.

  19. All right, I'm on the board. Terrible picture, but that is 21,800. That trench run is pretty tough. Will try a bit more this weekend And I played a few rounds of Space Harrier
  20. Also for those who are on the fence I would recommend getting the RGB set up from crossbow when the Crayon King will releases more of his boards on eBay. The setup I'm using with two consoles with HDMI scalers is perfect, no lag at all.
  21. That's the importance of a regulated power supply. The voltage will be the same with or without the load. Unregulated supplies have a wide range of voltages dependent on the load. Center positive, and it has a protection circuit incase it gets wired up backwards.
  22. Very nice Crash! Now if I can get my Intelli to look that good on a LCD!😝 I have 3 built so far. Whipped out the ol Monoprice Select Mini to print the cart as I can't get my Sovol SV01 to reliably print. I'm currently modifying the cart's front to look more like an original cart. I'll post a screen cap of the models so you all can get a look. Then hopefully the printed cart will turn out good. Building these have been a blast. So, Aotta, could a Pico work for a 2600 cart? 😁
  23. Keystone Kapers is a Great Game! You really picked a good one! That is my go to game still to this day. I first bought mine back in the early 80’s when I owned an Atari Clone the Coleco Gemini which I purchased at Sears. It was my first Atari system. Take a good look at the controller my score was much higher on that system because of the controller. It had a built in paddle which worked well but the original Atari paddles were the best. If you can do 7800 emulation check out Keystone Koppers by Muddyvision
  24. Has anyone played with the SOUND UNIT on UCSD PASCAL running on CLASSIC99? I am simply trying to get the sounds to play but cannot seem to get it working. Something simple i am missing? Thanks!
  25. I only seen myAtari selling the nullmodem cable on ebay, and I avoid 'best' since he only uses the most expensive shipping to Canada. I guess I could take a shot at making one, my hands hurt like hell today, but by the time I order parts I will hopefuly be doing better
