Oscar G.
Amazing score Ignorama! ... Now you need around 200 extra lives at 90K to try to beat the record Indeed the game is extremely difficult after 90K and my fish die like flies
m-crew
One of the advantages of the HSC is that we do not share scores but also strategies. There are great players here like Lid or Ignorama that are also very kind and give tips. So far I recommend you to perfect your shark-tail bitting technique. It is a matter of timing, get the tempo right (the tempo gets faster as your score advances). Killing the Shark gives you not only big points but extra lives. Accumulate these extra lives for later stages. By the way, use the Dart option (press number buttons) to escape from tight spots and avoid being cornered at the edge of the screen. Cheers. O Much thanks for the tips.... They sure do help..

Gernot
hence, frustration is the driving force for addictivity. shark! shark! is a good example for this, you die fast - it frustrates you and you will play again. to sad i stayed that long offline, neither i made scores above 30'000 but a competition will force you to score best as you can. i like this game very much, my son had it for the gameboy, a unofficial chinese variant for the gameboy. i'm not sure, but by looking at the simplicity of the gameplay i believe it's a classic basic game, there will be no copyright for the idea. certainly when i would browse some old software magazines i will find something very similar to shark! shark! old computers did it better! you can have a 5GB game and it's not better as this 16kB of fun. it's not as addictive as this. "damned! i'm dead!"
mr_me
I find with games like this, I just stop playing once it becomes frustratingly difficult to improve my score. Shark Shark was great fun until that point. Intellivision Shark Shark is actually only 6k (7.5kB). Ideas are never copyrightable but if the Chinese knockoff copies the graphics or sounds, it's infringing.
