sometimes99er
So, Turmoil was made to replicate Spaz Attack or Spaz Attack was made to replicate Turmoil? I think Turmoil is 1982. And Spaz Attack might be 2009. https://www.mobygames.com/game/turmoil/screenshots http://www.colecoboxart.com/colecovision_homebrew.htm
Jess Ragan
Was Turmoil released for the Atari 800? I wanna say that it was... (Hm... Turmoil, Turmell. Turmoil, Turmell.) By the way, Turmoil was ported to the MSX, which is pretty close to the ColecoVision hardware wise. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AToCsIkSVtM Edited December 18, 2018 by Jess Ragan

unhuman
I found my source! Edit: Looks to be from 2006, so probably lost a ton of stuff, though. Edit: Yep. From a quick look at the code, I have just moving + shooting. No enemies. Edited December 19, 2018 by unhuman

unhuman
And.... I've found 2009 code in my old SVN repository! Code pushed! Looks like the tools I built upon are 32-bit Windows... So, I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild this. DOSBOX might let me do this on Mac... Playing soon. This might be a candidate for recompilation with gnu c compiler... unhuman
I got it to build! Here's a ROM I built tonight (for ColecoVision) SPAZATAK.ROM DOSBox works - but it's slow. Doesn't seem I can max it out, so builds take longer than I'd like... This would show you, perhaps, what Turmoil might look like on the TI. It's actually harder than I remember.... I'm still not sure it's fun, though... This game is missing: sounds pauses between deaths / button mashing problems pauses between levels / button mashing problems. Get your Dad to load it up in a ColecoVision emulator and let me know what you think! Edited December 25, 2018 by unhuman

Opry99er
My son is playing this game on the GRAM Kracker right now. He has tears in his eyes. We need a proper label... I recommend we find a way to incorporate the original cartridge label art into it somehow.

PeteE
Here's a collaborative label effort that Turtles and I came up with. . . Looks nice, except that 32K RAM is not actually required... unless you use the EA5 version.
Opry99er
Yep! 8K ROM only!!! Been playing it on my GRAM Kracker with no PEB.

BuckoBrand
Wow. I didn't think you would rise to the challenge, PeteE. I'll tell you one thing: it is way better than on the 2600. I hope that Turmoil is on the high score competition soon. I'll kick everybody's butts. I will be playing this game a lot in the upcoming time.
+Ksarul
Even better! Here's the label after removal of the offending 32K reference. You may post it on your site too if you like it, Ciro.
