Fletcher Reede: You scratched my car! Tow Yard Employee: Where? Fletcher Reede: [indicating with his hands] Right there! Tow Yard Employee: Oh... That was already there. Fletcher Reede: You -- LIAR! You know what I am going to do about this? Tow Yard Employee: What? Fletcher Reede: Nothing! Because if I take it to small claims court, it will just drain 8 hours out of my life and you probably won't show up and even if I got the judgment you'd just stiff me anyway; so what I am going to do is piss and moan like an impotent jerk, and then bend over and take it up the tailpipe! Tow Yard Employee: [tossing the keys to Fletcher] You've been here before, haven't ya?

I finished uploading my August 2022 gaming videos playlist. That month I played a lot of Sonic. First, taking up the most videos I finished up my first playthrough of the launch version of Sonic Origins, then played the Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit fan game and Esrael's then-current version of his Sonic Delta Reloaded hack, plus I started the Donkey Kong Country: The Trilogy fan game and made more progress in Pokemon Yellow.

Why did Johnny Rotten and Bananarama never go on tour together?  They could have called it - the Rotten Banana Tour!
      1. aeberbach

Banarama probably had too much artistic integrity to work with him...
      2. John Stamos Mullet

Because Bananarama only went on one proper world tour for 6 months at the beginning of 1989 ending in May 1989, and didn't tour again until 1999/2000's. Johnny Rotten was in studio recording PIL's album until October 1989.

    • What I mean would be things like taking ‘Sky Raiders’ from 1978   …and release it for the Atari 50th as DLC, with options for original mode, or ReArranged mode - where you’d get colors on the backdrops and ways to lose energy/life before time runs out or you’ve crossed the scrolling field.   They could add extra levels too, with various landscapes.   The way you could lose lifes/energy would be for every object that you don’t shoot down before it crosses past you at the bottom.   It would make a game being mostly a visually impressive thing anno 1978 to be more of a real game.   And similar updates for many of the IPs Atari holds now.   The updated versions with improved graphics, alternative versions, more gameplay, better sound, could be DLC contents for the Atari 50th into the future, making it a collection that would steadily grow in size and depth with time.
    • Atari announced last July that they 'partnered with' Playmaji.   End of that month Highway Holdings- the company that produces the Polymega for Playmaji announced they are getting back to work...now that Playmji had the cash to make payment.   https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/highway-holdings-to-resume-full-production-for-playmaji-301886911.html   They started shipping back orders during the holidays.   In Feb Highway Holdings finacial report stated-  "we noted last quarter, we are benefitting from a restarting of the business from our customer Playmaji, Inc., which owns the Polymega game console business. This business has now returned to full production after the motherboard supplier stabilized its supply chain and finally achieved a reasonable component lead time last year. We expect to see continued regular orders for the existing Polymega products in 2024, while also adding on manufacturing support for some very promising new products that could be further additive to our sales in the near future."   In March- "Polymega's N64 Module Sells Out, New Stock Coming In June"   https://www.timeextension.com/news/2024/03/polymegas-n64-module-sells-out-new-stock-coming-in-june   From what I've seen- most of the units shipped / received / talked about so far are in the Asian countries.   So they have a lot going on with their existing hardware so far... modules, light gun, etc.   Maybe we'll see VCS stuff before end of year.
    • This may have been a false alarm, I'm sorry to say.  I've been fighting this thing for days, when it occurred to look at the bus data on the logic analyzer traces.  Here's the routine I used to check the RAM:   0158 0159 ********************************* 0160 ** RAM data read/write test. ** 0161 ********************************* 0162 99/4 ASSEMBLER VERSION 1.2 PAGE 0004 0163 DATEST 0164 609A 02E0 LWPI >8300 * Set workspace pointer. 609C 8300 0165 609E 0300 LIMI 0 * Disable interrupts. 60A0 0000 0166 0167 60A2 C820 MOV @>6000,@>6000 * Run from Bank 0. 60A4 6000 60A6 6000 0168 0169 D#LOOP 0170 60A8 0201 LI R1,>7C00 * Initialize address counter. 60AA 7C00 0171 0172 D#LOO1 0173 60AC C441 MOV R1,*R1 * Send data to RAM. 0174 60AE 8C41 C R1,*R1+ * Check data. 0175 60B0 1604 JNE D#STOP * If no match, STOP. 0176 0177 60B2 0281 CI R1,>8000 * At end of RAM? 60B4 8000 0178 60B6 16FA JNE D#LOO1 * If not, continue... 0179 60B8 10F7 JMP D#LOOP * ... else, start over. 0180 0181 D#STOP 0182 60BA 10FF JMP D#STOP * Stop here! 0183 0184 END   The read-data matches the data previously written, even though the analyzer triggered an error.  I had set it to trigger on >60BA on the address bus; on the cartridge it was >00BA with CART_SEL low.  I looked at the analyzer trigger and figured it found a brief time where the bus switching had the >60BA.  After changing the trigger to look for >60B8 followed by >60BA and set the select and DBIN strobes correctly, the analyzer didn't trigger.  When I manually triggered the analyzer, the read-data still matched the previously written data. K-R.

    • Okay…last one for me. The Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas was pretty cool. I visited their old site. It was dark. They have since moved, so that may have changed. At least it looks brighter in their web photos.
    • Definitely get some video of the arcade cabinets. I tend to stick to pinball when shooting video, ignoring the arcade cabs.   Also that video is from last spring, so their lineup may have changed since then.
    • I read it. I prefer a darker setting. Some arcades place all of their Vector games in dark rooms and that works too. If you’re ever in Portland OR, you have to visit Ground Kontrol. It’s not as dark as our arcades, but their array of games is awesome.
