FFS... any more it is just easier to tell people I like "Star Wars" just so I can move on and avoid the onslaught of "omg!?  what don't you like about it?  why?  really??  what about the mandalorian?!  omg!!"
      1. cvga

You don't like it? OMG, what don't you like about it?
      2. GoldLeader

But you at least like The Mandalorian right?   I mean it's like a Western,  but it's Star Wars!
      3. GoldLeader

Serious question:  What do you like?     (No judgement)
      4. OLD CS1

@GoldLeader Less and less.  But, the original trilogy, when Star Wars was new wave, not neo-scifi.  My buddy and I were thrilled about Episode I, but he had to just about tackle me back into my seat when the whole "mediclorian" thing came up.

        My responses to a few:

        - My mother is a saint! (Yes, I translated)
        - I have never liked or subscribed to any Youtube channel.  I browse not logged in. I have the ones I like bookmarked.  Previews with a guy doing "O" face is an instant not watch.
        - Tron Arcade is one of my favorite games.  I miss the one I used to own.  I sold it knowing it would eventually not work - someone else's problem.  The movie is also great.  I love Tron Legacy and occasionally still watch it on my still working 3DTV with glasses.
        - I would take a '63 split window Corvette over a Viper.  But not the new ones, I would take a base '92 Viper.
        - Chipotle's steak is way better than Qdoba's.  Never had a complaint about the chips from either side.

    • When I was a kid I got an Atari 800xl, never knew there was even a 1200, in the 90s I seen a 1200 for sale and bought it assuming it came after 800xl.   What ya gonna do?   The 1200xl never seen much use mostly because i had both the Amiga 500 and the Atari st, and the rest is history.
    • I have a set of data (53 character definitions) I'd like to use in a segment procedure. Since Pascal does not have the equivalent of a DATA basic statement, what is the most efficient way of embedding that data into the procedure? I could create an array and explicitly fill each element with the corresponding data, but is there a better way of doing it? Another option is to create a raw data file and read it into a large array with BLOCKREAD, but for that I will have to create an assembly language program to create that raw file using the standard EA and transfer it to a Pascal disk using Pcode Tool. I could leverage Magellan for that last option. That said I would prefer to completely stay within the pcode environment.
    • There's kind of a trick to how to do this... but if you fly into a door with the drill going, and also press the shield... if you don't go through you will bounce back instead of dying.  There are lots of little subtle ways in which it works and doesn't... so you'll have to experiment with what works best.   That's certainly a strategy... but pretty hard to not die while clearing the board.  When you leave though, you lose a life... and you miss out on 1000 points for blowing the place up when you leave.  The more levels you blow up though, I think the harder/faster/stronger it gets... but I'm not sure about that.  It might just be the longer you spend clearing boards the harder it gets.  So you have to make each life count for as many points as you can get. Haha... I think that's totally by design so it wasn't super easy to just mow everything down.  You really have to aim, and also spray at times.
    • Improvements for both games on day 2.   I really like retro pinball games. I still remember playing midnight magic for hours (here in hsc, some time ago).  Bumper Bash (1 A/A, 1 ball): 41585     Kaboom! (1 B/B): 1691 Haven't really played this game before (although I know its quite famous). My paddle has a bit of jittering, but I'm starting to get the groove of the game. Fun!
    • you said: " even though this computer offered nothing new worth mentioning in regards to the earlier models "   So that is what I was replying too.  AFAIK, and unless I'm a total potato, the 800XL came after the 1200XL.
    • If these work out please count me in for 1 or 2 when they become available for sale(thinking of getting a second console as a spare) Very interested to see how they handle Activision carts👍
    • Story from a German comedian (could be made up, but good anyway):   "Recently I took the tramway, standing in the aisle. A young girl sitting nearby, our eyes met, and I thought - well, I may have got older, but obviously there's still something in me, the fire's not out yet, I still have something for them ... She's still looking at me, starts to smile, maybe up to saying something.   And then she asked: Do you wish to sit down?"
    • Try shopping in small towns and/or places that sell job-lots of merchandise, overstock, bankruptcies, etc.    There is a local (Northern Maine) chain called Marden's that has all sorts of random out-of-date electronics. They pay mere pennies for stock, and so if it sits on the shelf for years, so be it. At the same time, the demand for obsolete video games in places like Waterville is going to be rather limited.   The now defunct Canadian department store chain Zellers was also notorious for this. Stores in smaller communities would often have games from two or even three generations past still available at close to original retail prices.
    • Albert already confirmed elsewhere that Pitfall II is running in the latest, so... yes.
