My Childhood Arcade

Recommended Posts

I grew up in a small Pennsylvania town called Selinsgrove. Our arcade was called Spaceport and was in the Susquehanna Valley Mall. It was L-shaped, dimly lit and was designed like a space station. We used to call the old guy that worked there "Space Pap". I frequented the arcade between '83-'87.

That was my favorite place to go when I was a kid. I lived in Lewisburg so I always needed a ride to get there.

Seems like there might be a community theater in that space now?

I just recently visited an arcade in Broken Arrow, OK. It's called PJ Gamers. It has 3 separate areas. One area is an arcade. They have 30 or so arcade games. I got to play Galaga, Pacman. Aero-Fighters, and the Star Wars Trilogy. For $5 they set you up for free play all day on all the arcade games. Donkey Kong. Mario Brothers, and Tempest were down for maintenance.
