Yet another game ID thread

You're probably all sick of lurkers dropping in and asking for names to Atari games, but in case you're not, here's a bit of a challenge for you . . .

The game I'm looking for is similar in gameplay and scale to Star Raiders. It also had some elements of Sinistar mixed in, since you had to fly around the galaxy and collect crystals to make torpedos to blow the Big Bad Enemy up with. I think it might have been distributed by ANTIC, but there's no mention of it on atarimagazines.com, or at least none I can find. I remember that it definitely didn't come with a manual, because you had to boot the disk from side B and print one out yourself.

Anybody who could give a name or (better yet) point me in the direction of a disk image would be much appreciated.

Never mind; I went through all the 2-disk games on Holmes (and probably irritated the guy providing the bandwidth a little :D) and found it was Xtal.

Now I'm off to burn my now-complete Atari800DC disc . . . ;)

Yes, a fantastic game. I have the Antic Catatlog original in an album style case similiar to the old EA titles of the day. Same thing with my Antic's King Tut's Tomb game. I really love the docking sequence in X-tal, with the man in the space suit that drifted bye waving...th programmers used some interesting gaphic techniques in that game, including the STAR WARS style beginning. I highly recommend this game to any 8-bit fan. Like Star Raiders, it is a simulation of sorts with lots of details and things to do as well as shoot-em-up action.
