In all honesty, I am NOT trying to be a jerk or instigate anything here, but I also thought this item is simply a 7800 fitted into the VCS adapter case, and engineered to tap the power coming from the 5200. (And also the A/V lines, if it supports RF use?)

 

I certainly wouldn't have the skills to mimic the original 7800 board onto a new board that was shaped and sized for the different enclosure, but conceptually the whole thing doesn't seem all that complicated to me.

 

What am I overlooking?

 

(Again, I'm sincerely curious, not trying to stir anything up.)

A friend modded my 5200 system.Now i can enjoy the 7800 adapter on my own system.

Works really great.My 2 favourite game systems in one.....
