General Atarian
I found this week "Fast Food" with the grip handle, a rarity 4, but otherwise slow week. It is getting increasingly hard to find stuff in my area, There is a person in this area who is buying up everything under the sun, just to turn around and eBay it, don't you hate it when that happens? I guess i better put on my running shoes
munkyxtc
I found this week "Fast Food" with the grip handle, a rarity 4, but otherwise slow week. It is getting increasingly hard to find stuff in my area, There is a person in this area who is buying up everything under the sun, just to turn around and eBay it, don't you hate it when that happens? Yes, I too hate when that happens, the same is happening here in Reading, I'm not trying to sound hypicritical, as I have made my fair share of profit on eBay; however, my motivation for doing so is purely for my collecting habit...any money made immediately gets turned around and put back into the collection, buying rarer games, more complete copies...etc etc...but lately, it seems that people around here have just been buying everything in order to make "huge" profits... HAHA, funny thing is they don't know anything about game rarity, and will pay $10 for a beat up combat cart, then turn around and sell it, undoubtably, they are the ones w/ the "rare" combat's always listed...they'll learn when they are constantly in the "red" that their, big plan wasn't such a good one after all Dave
Ridenmy65
Well, I assume that you are talking about me General. Let me tell you what kind of a bad guy that I am. This weekend I am walking through a flea market and I saw a game that I already had. Tapper by Sega. Not a bad find for most. Now, because I know YOU didn't have it I said to myself, let me pick it up for him because I know he will want it and maybe we will work something out. But now, I think Ebay looks kind of nice......... By the way, if you had a half a brain you would see that the ebay lot that I just sold did not have ONE game on it that you did not have. Before you make an ass out of yourself again, check the facts.....

General Atarian
Before I respond I am going to choose my words very carefully. Flying off the handle has gotton me into trouble here in the past, and I have leaned my lesson well. I believe that AtariAge is a place of fun, friendship, comradery, and keeping in the spirit of the fun of collecting. So I am not going to bring insults into this atmospere, nor will I make pot-shots at anyone for any reason what-so-ever. I (and many others, I am sure) believe it has no place here. Please allow me to respond in a dignified manner to the previous posts. 1. You assumed. That, IMHO, was a mistake, at no time did I mention you, not one time. Are you the only collector in this area? Without sounding insulting, I think it is pompous of you to think that. I was actually referring to a guy named "Jim". Everywhere I go, people ask me, "Are you Jim?" I say no, they say he is a buying machine. I or Alan have never met this guy, but he is cleaning the area out. 2. I don't think you are a bad guy at all. Not at all. 3. Tapper, I thank you for thinking of me when you were walking through the flea. That was very considerate of you. Yes, maybe we could trade in the future, I would like that very much. As Alan and I do, we always carry each others list and if we find something the other could use, we always pick it up for each other. It is nice to have a "network" that benefits everyone. Because we all can't be in the right place at the right time. 4. If eBay sounds nice, then go for it, good luck. I hope your auction brings you success. 5. As far as "having half a brain" I dont follow your eBay sales. I am not a big eBay fan. I prefer to stay away from it, there is nothing wrong with eBay, it is just a personal preference, because of all the horror stories I read about it here on AtariAge. 6. As far as making an ass out of myself. I don't think I made an ass out myself one bit. I believe my fact's were straight.....were yours? 7. My comments were honest and straight forward. And were directed at no one person. Good luck in your endeavors.

General Atarian
I did try, as per the lengthy message I put. But I prefer not to be insulted for something I didn't do. I don't want to keep this up, but after what was said, how could I not respond? The issue is dead. Thank you.
ROBOTRON2084
Yeah...the Detroit area is dead too. Haven't found much in last few weeks....I did get Bonk's adventure for my TurboGrafx though!
minorleagueguy
Buffalo is dead also, we recently had a block sale, and i must have had 25 people ask if i had any video games for sale, once i tell them no, they get on their cell phone and call their "game pimp" for what to do next. lol the flea markets are no better, all i ever see is combat, defender, pac-man, etc. oh well....... lonesome_pa
That's what's it's like around me. I did pick up some games that I already had to use as "trading fodder" if you want to call it that. But otherwise, nothing really exciting yet to be found, emphasis on yet. I know there is a find out there, just a matter of timing.
