Gemeni Posted June 13, 2008 Share Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) Anybody here know how to fix/rebuild atari 5200 controllers my controllers were working the only problem im having is with the joystick it only works sometimes and sometimes it dosn't can anybody fix this or give me directions so I can do it myself? Prodos8 Posted June 13, 2008 Share Posted June 13, 2008 The stick is the most durable part of these controllers. If your having problems with all your controllers you probably need to adjust the controller potentiometer inside the 5200. Take the top part off of your 5200, its the smaller pot on the lower right corner of the motherboard. Plug a controller in and center it. Start up Super Breakout or Missle Command and adjust the pot until the paddle/cursor is in the middle of the screen. I usually work the pot back and forth a few times to clean it a bit before adjusting it. If you still have problems then there's probably something wrong with the motherboard.
