King Atari
Yep, I'm bored again. Here's the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES as it might (probably wouldn't) appear on the 2600.
StanJr
I say make it in the same vein as Kung Fu Master and you've got a kick butt game. An EASY hack for those who are ambitious
Lemmi
whats the one eyed, one armed purple thing? Yeah the kung fu hack would be interesting too
King Atari
Heh, it was supposed to be a Foot Soldier. It would make a good hack, but wouldn't you need some programming knowledge to change the colors?

MegaManFan
I'd love to hear his musical rendition of the TMNT theme as played by a 2600. Too difficult to add a vocal version I know, but I can sing along to the music anyway - THEY'RE HEROES IN A HALFSHELL, AND THEY'RE GREEN! Umm wait.. is it sad that I still remember the words

Cap5750
Well if it's truly one-eyed and one-armed, then it's a Giant Purple People Eater! Cap

imstarryeyed
Ha ha ha that was awesome. At the chagrin of those that hated the first game.. that one is totally one I would love to see an Atari based on. It's a great one player game. I hated it as a kid but loved it as I got older. King Atari
I cringe when I see the stupid shit I posted 13 years ago. I really wouldn't mind if Albert went and deleted every single one of my posts from the era, just so I wouldn't have to see them dredged up out of the past at random like this. That said, a TMNT for the 2600 would be pretty sweet... Edited March 22, 2015 by King Atari

The Usotsuki
I'd like to see TMNT (both the NES game and the arcade one) attempted on the 7800... *hides*

I'd like to see TMNT (both the NES game and the arcade one) attempted on the 7800... *hides* Also likewise, on either the 2600 or 7800 (or both?). A hack of Kung-Fu Master is probably the best bet. Walk from one end of the stage to the other, smashing up Foot Soldiers and mousers along the way and fighting a Foot Clan boss at the end? Maybe use the game select switch to select your uniquely skilled turtle (essentially treat them as game variations)? Sign me up! I wish I had the skills to do this because I doubt the interest is there for most 2600 programmers and homebrewers. I think TMNT is a little after their time. I don't think there is anything to feel embarassed about over this. If you got ripped off on eBay and went all psycho then I could understand it, but posting an intelligent suggestion for homebrew development (with graphics to back it up) is a good thing and if people like the idea 13 years down the track why not go with it? Eh, maybe. Lets just say it's not a post I'd ever make nowadays. If there's one good thing about it though, the response is pretty positive, and truth be told, it has gotten my creative synapses fired up; not that I really have the skills or time to follow-up on them (nor am I suggesting that someone else should - I don't want to be that guy), but just for fun, I can easily envision two Atari TMNT projects: - For the 2600, the aforementioned Kung-Fu Master-like game. Maybe not even necessarily a hack of KFM, but a single-plane game akin to KFM, sort of like the original Game Boy TMNT titles. - For the 7800, a more traditional-style TMNT Beat-'Em-Up, perhaps even a full-on port of the arcade game. And with the amount of sprites that system could push without flicker, maybe even all four players with the addition of a specifically-created 7800 multitap? Hey, I can dream, can't I?
