the.golden.ax
Other than the flight stick has anyone ever made a Jaguar specific joystick, complete with number pad? Links, photos, info appreciated! AX
Atari Smeghead
The only one I know of is/was the JAMMA stick from Goat Store. Apparently, they stopped making it long ago. No number pad, tho. This is an old link, but it has some interesting info in it... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=jamma+joystick Cheers, Smeg
the.golden.ax
I hope to fit a proto in around Mid-May to June on an arcade stick with a number pad that takes overlays. I really think the Jag needs this, and it would be great to build in a spinner as well. I don't care if its too costly to mass produce, I'd still like to make one. I've really been enjoying Jag these past few weeks. AX

+Stephen Moss
I built an Analogue PC Joystick to Jaguar interface, the idea was to be able to convert the analogue output to digital for use with the Jaguar and still retaining access to the JagPads keypad and the analogue outputs for BattleSphere. The converted digital outputs from the Joystick are combined with those comming from the JagPad thus giving access to the keypad, I found it quite useful for playing IS as it meant that I did not have to temporarily relinquish control of speed or direction to switch weapons as I used one hand on the Joystick and the other on the JagPad. As production seemed impractical with Joysticks converting to USB I made the all the information including circuit diagrams, PIC firmware and images of the PCB layout available at http://www.sgmelectrosoft.co.uk/hardware/jagstick.htm, you can you the information to create a duplicate or as a basis for your own design. viMaster
I made one. There are pics somewhere on Jaguar Sector II, I believe. It didn't have a numpad, though. It was my first attempt and was just done in what is called a hobby box. The next one I do will be a custom controller specifically for Total Carnage, but it probably won't be for a while. I need to figure out the PCB and get one custom made for me.

And if you do add a spinner, I hope it'll be more like the Tempest acrade spinner, heavy and free-spinning (beyond 360). the.golden.ax
I would be going with arcade parts for everything and perhaps the original keypad from a jag pad so you can use your original overlays... HOWEVER, it would be much cooler to go with a custom keyboard, and make a custom overlay pack that was included with the control... I mean after all, there are only so many controller overlays. All the art, coverings, and overlays would be fun to make with my new die cutter. AX

ovalbugmann
Well here's a few quick pics - there are many other Jaguar controllers including the JaguarGod short thumb stick put right on a regular Jagpad in place of the normal D-pad and there is another one that's similar with a thumbpad stick. The Phil Boland is nice and the Songbird Rapid Fire is cool. I've got some more controller pics around somewhere. Does anybody want one of these Jaguar controllers?: GoatStore "Jamma" regular Arcade stick: Jag Tempest Chaos Reins Rotary: GoatStore Jamma "Lefty" How about a Atari 2600 VCS controller?: And a Sega Genesis controller?:

Atari Smeghead
Does anybody want one of these Jaguar controllers?: GoatStore Jamma "Lefty" I hope I can buy one of the lefty Jamma sticks one of these days... if one comes available I'd snatch it up! That first controller, without the number pad... does that actually exist? I assumed it was a mock-up (or a mocking... a mutant offspring of a PS stick and our jag controller.) Thanks for sharing those pics! There's a lot of cool stuff out there! Cheers, Smeg

I got a bit bummed when I "completed" my Lynx collection, then I decided to collect the variant cart types... so it's back on again! And cool, I'm glad you're enjoying the rapid fire controller. I knew you'd give it a good home! Cheers, Smeg
the.golden.ax
I'm thinking something like the one in this picture The face would be somewhere in the 8 x 10 range. If I could get a case that would be cost effective, since 5200, and Coleco all use number pads, I think I would produce the shells and wire them to order for the buyers choice of console. I don't even have the die cutter yet (waiting on the mail) and I'm all excited about the possibilities. I don't know what people conssider cost effective, but if you are looking at killing an original controller, plus arcade parts, spinner, dye, ink, t-molding, etc, I think the $100 mark would be a realistic price to try and keep it under. dantheratman
I would definitely be in at that price point.
ovalbugmann
No, I don't think the two JagPads I pictured without the numberpads are real, I think their just photoshop mock-up mockerys of the PS controller. Yes, that big console style controller with the Jaguar bumper sticker, rotary, and regular Jagpad on it for keyboard use is very cool, I would like to buy or make one of those baddies. I believe our very own "Gunstar" made it and then sold it to someone. The Jammas are cool too.
