+batari
I'm looking for a 7800 motherboard that has the infamous timing kludge circuit to "fix" 2600 Dark Chambers, but also does not work with Supercharger, Decathlon, Space Shuttle, Robot Tank, or the Cuttle Cart. I have a working 7800 motherboard without the kludge that I am willing to trade straight across. I want one of these "problem" 7800 motherboards so I can try to make the Harmony cart work on them with all games. Please make sure your motherboard has the timing kludge before offering a trade. You will need to open up your 7800, take off the RF shield and look on the right side of the PCB. You need to have 4 ICs, and R66, C64 both present or you don't have the kludge. This is a picture of a 7800 without the kludge and the one you'd be getting in trade. Note it has 3 ICs, no R66 or C64 and a 0 ohm resistor between two leads of the unpopulated IC footprint. GroovyBee
Could you add the missing parts to yours to make it the same as the kludged version? Or is the problem more subtle than that?
the.golden.ax
I've got any version you like, if it ensures me a Harmony AX
+batari
Could you add the missing parts to yours to make it the same as the kludged version? Or is the problem more subtle than that?I think I could add the parts. The IC is a 74LS02, but I am not sure of the values of the cap and resistor. I figured it would be mutually beneficial to just trade someone, that way they get a "good" 7800 and I get a "bad" one without needing to mod either. I've got any version you like, if it ensures me a Harmony If all goes according to plan, everyone who wants a Harmony (and has the money) will get one. GroovyBee
he IC is a 74LS02, but I am not sure of the values of the cap and resistor. There is some information on 7800 serial numbers with the kludge in the 7800 FAQ here :- http://www.atariage.com/7800/faq/index.htm...mID=7800#cat3_3 Have you seen this page? http://www94.pair.com/jsoper/7800_compat.html No values on it mind . The one I have is an 001 Rev B board, and my Supercharger does work on it, contrary to the list above. I don't have Robot Tank or other Activision titles but they all work with a Harmony cart on this console (as do Supercharger titles.) Hopefully someone out there has a console that doesn't work with a Supercharger and the FE Activision titles, and is willing to open it up and see if the timing circuit is present. accousticguitar
You need to have 4 ICs, and R66, C64 both present or you don't have the kludge. What do you mean by "R66, C64?" I have one with 4 ICs, but I'm not sure about the rest.
