Question...

I had no trouble obtaining software that was released for it, all the dealers and many other stores carried Atari through the 80's, the problem was a lack of published software to start with; we didn't have nearly as many software houses publishing for Atari over hear as you did in England and Europe, and the ones that did, didn't release as much as they did for other computers such as Commodore or Apple...now that I can get software for it off the internet, I'm finally seeing all that great software you guys had form all those great English software houses and even Atari UK! We did get a few Mastertronic titles, but not nearly all of them. But I didn't have to go far to obtain what was available. This was the same for both the ST and 8-bits, although the ST did enjoy much better support than the 8-bits, but still nothing like you guys enjoyed. Atari, even though it was an American company, basically ignored it's own back yard in favor of the European market since they had a much larger market share over there than here...here Commodore and Apple were bigger and Atari was a distant 3rd in the home market, so they (Atari) stopped trying by about '88... :x Which is why most American Atari fans hate the Tramiels! :x
