I was really looking forward to playing this but still can't as there dosn't seem to be an image that works with Nero. The one on your site dosn't work and CB did one on JS2 that he said worked with Nero but dosn't either.

Pretty bummed out as I wanted to play this and have now wasted a few CD-R's trying to

We use CDI (Disc Juggler) demo because it's free, reliable & it's the format supported by Project Tempest emulator & ULS.

I can't help with the image CB has made, not sure what he has used to do that, but some of these utils make bad images we've found.

Alternatively I could send you a disc burned with Disc Juggler so you can give it a go, but since version 1.1 is only a day away, there's not much point doing that now. Let me know how you get on with Disc Juggler tomorrow, if you don't have any luck I'll send you a burned disc (I need to create one for testing 1.1 anyway, so no biggie).

Just a reminder that it runs on Project Tempest. Yes, nowhere near as much fun as a real Jaguar, but useful when in a fix like this.

SUPERFLY 1.1 UPDATE

Since we released the Outline party version of the game a couple of weeks ago, a few extra features have been requested and several issues have been reported that needed fixing before we offer the CE version.

Version 1.1 has been uploaded to our site, replacing the older release binaries & a new Project Tempest-friendly version has been added. Links at bottom of post.

The following things have been altered for version 1.1.

CHANGES:

  • Code system was broken. Unlocks become available based on your saved game code.
  • Unlocks can now be switched on/off from the View Unlockables screen.
  • 2 unlocks were replaced due to becoming redundant by switches.
  • Pause is now an unlockable feature
  • Kylie mode is now an unlockable feature.
  • Unlocks automatically selectable from Unlockables screen upon issue. No codes to enter!
  • Savegame code changed to enable auto-unlocks.
  • Memory Track support added - detection indicated by "MT" on Unlockables screen.

FIXES:

  • Fixed bug where pressing C in story mode didn't quit.
  • Fixed bug where loaded game generated random characters in totals.
  • Fixed bug where Hunter mode showed story mode pickups instead of stars.
  • Fixed bug where movement unlocks only worked in Versus Mode. (Now only work in 1-player as intended)
  • Fixed bug where total distance and total stars would wrap instead of maxing out (99999999 for distance, 65535 for stars) - this would wipe out unlocks.

CORRECTIONS:

  • Corrected typo on "UP THROUGH THE MAGMA".
  • Corrected typo on "BRAIN FUSION" in greetings.
  • Story mode distances are now rounded to thousands, eg 5000 instead of 4999.

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • Sample on Title screen does not play correctly in all versions - will be fixed for CE.

We'd like to thank you all for your comments and reports. We hope you didn't mind holding out a little bit longer for this version than was originally planned (very last minute bug in the CD version needed a lot of hunting down).

So now go play & please report any further issues (there shouldn't be any!), we want to give you all the best gaming experience possible in the CE version.

Nice!

This works in MESS... rename the ROM files (either one, the PT-friendly one works too) to J64.

Also, rename the BJL to BIN.

I got up to 8015 points, still in stage 1, before getting careless and crashing into the wall.

Congratulations, you've done an excellent job! :)

GAIN STAT EXP TO UNLOCK ADDITIONAL GAME FEATURES - EVERY GAME COUNTS!

USE STAT EXP SAVE CODES TO RETURN TO YOUR GAME AT A LATER TIME.

:D  Play Freeflight & Hunter for a little while & other play modes will unlock as will other features.

Never used MESS before so can't comment on the accuracy of emulation there, but good to know it works, cheers. I use Virtual Jaguar (actively developed) Project Tempest (supports Disc Juggler CD images).

yeah cool. will it try tonight. when will the collectors edition be available?

Once we're sure it's safe to start producing the CDs - it could be available within 10 days or so if everything goes to plan. If there are more issues to deal with, a bit longer might be required. It might be a simple game to play, but the features/unlocks/etc mean there's a lot to test.

I am going to download and try the game later this evening.

All these changes sound fantastic, I also like the Memory Track support!

As far as I'm concerned, take your time before releasing the game, to make sure that everything in the game is worked out well :)

I found something strange.

When I start the game with the Skunkboard, I hear "Superfly!"

Start the game up from cd, I hear "Fly!", like the first part is cut off :?

This appears in 50Hz. and 60Hz.

Yes, I mentioned this at the end of the 1.1 release post. It's fixed now, but there's not much point releasing another version just for this. This should also fix the missing sound that was reported when playing with Protector.

Thanks for reporting it though, that's exactly what we need, cheers! :)

As a little bonus, we're running a competition that will end on 23rd May 12:00 CET. Keep submitting both your regular WEBCODES and also SAVE GAME CODES & you are in with a chance of winning some goodies :) We're not saying exactly what the prizes are until the winners are announced. It's mostly just for fun, but serious Jag collectors might want to PRESS THE BUTTON as you never know what kind of one-off goodies there might be up for grabs :D

Just a reminder - there's about 48 hours left to be in for a chance to win!

Due to recent & current problems with the Reboot website we're going to extend the deadline by 48 hours. We considered letting people email in their codes, but that would have needed quit a bit of effort for us & we're laz...err, we have important stuff to be getting on with.

Xerus has promised not to add any more scores, so there's still all to play for if you're feeling particularly superhuman & have an iron thumb

As for the CE - it's looking very close now. If nothing major is reported by the end of the week we should be good to go.

Right, compo's over!

We have had some insanely fantastic scores and I'd like to thank to all those who participated :). We'll put up a page with the winners and prizes soon-ish!

P.S. Hope there's still interest for the Collector's Edition - it's very very close to being finished! Sorry for the delays!

Nice job on the release. What format did you use for the music?

It was interesting to read that you limited yourself to the 68000 and OP. This is probably what a lot of professional Jaguar coders had to do, due to pressures from their companies.
