Questions about Tandyvision & games

I've been helping clean out my grandmother's house, and we came across this Tandyvision and games. I don't know much about this system or the games. I fired up the system and played a few games, everything seems to work great. Unfortunately my 2600 collection takes up the majority of space, so I unable to keep the system. Can anyone give me some information on the Tandyvision, and what kind of value there is if we decide to put this in a yard sale? Thank you guys.

I'd suggest listing it on Ebay or GG instead. Tandyvision One's seem to be rather uncommon, and the box looks to be in decent shape. I'm sure you can get a good value for it. Cross reference your post the marketplace section here and someone will probaly make you a bid before you even have to go to eBay!

Agreed. You should try and sell it here or on ebay as you'll do better than at a yard sale where someone's likely to offer you ten bucks for it. If that box was in better shape I'd buy it in a heartbeat as boxed Tandyvisions are quite hard to come by.

Tower of Doom is the most notable game you have, there are a couple of other uncommon ones as well. I think $50 is reasonable if it's working properly.

most def. put this on ebay. i recently had a few yard sales at my brothers house(very busy location) and put a bunch of atari commons and a system out and no one did more than glance at it and say 'i remember this' 'thats cool' but no one bought them. i had 50 cents on the carts and 15 on the system.

your box it beat up but the system looks nice and you have a nice variety. it should sell in the 45 to 70 range on a good day.

I'll second that. I was offered $50 for mine not long ago so there's a market for them.

Wasn't TandyVision "Radio Shack's" version of Intellivision sold exclusively at Radio Shack?, like Sear's did with the 2600?.I vaguely remember seeing them sold at Radio Shack back in the early 80's, not %100 positive on that though.

You are correct sir. icon_smile.gif Sears also made an INTV as well, the Sears Super Video Arcade, an unusual version of the INTV 1 in cream and brown with detachable joysticks. Kinda cool looking actually. icon_thumbsup.gif

Does the Sears use the same controller connectors as the Intv. 2?

same shape, but you can take it out as it has the same end as the 2600 and SMS. the sears console is great.

So, the INTV 2 controller also uses the Atari connector on it's controllers or is it different?

They use the same 9-pin connector, but they are wired differently. Atari and Intellivision II controllers are not interchangeable, if that's what you're asking.

Also, I believe controllers from the Super Video Arcade can be used on an Intellivision II. So if you really hate Intellivision II controllers, that's a possible option. (If I'm not mistaken, though, the 90-degree angle of an INTVII controller's plug precludes it from connecting to the Super Video Arcade. I could be wrong on this, though.) :)
