+cmart604
As I am somewhat new to collecting for the Intellivision could someone please explain to me how an Inty 2 is a launch edition. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 123738204969
mr_me
It's not even the first version of the intellivision ii. Those didn't have the red stripe. In fact that particular intellivision ii would be amongst the last that were manufactured. -------------- Reasonably nice FCTVVO LV Poker & Blackjack for someone in this lot but has a little tape along the side... FCTVVO Football too! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mattel-Intellivision-Console-and-16-Games-in-Boxes/183777591948?hash=item2ac9ff828c:g:wzAAAOSwzqBctnGd Based on the box, the intellivision in this auction might be considered a launch edition. Wouldn't it make more sense that the Red Stripe version is the first of the Intellivision II because it takes one more production step and is therefore more expensive to produce. And it fits more with the add ons. Edited April 18, 2019 by Intymike
mr_me
It's not just the red stripe, the original intellivision ii had more rounded edges. The plastic case was changed with less rounding and the red stripe to match the computer adapter and system changer.

But what is your source that the stripe less is the first one? For me it makes more sense that the one with the stripe is the one that came out first. mr_me
Check the serial numbers. The one in the auction is around 700k. The intellivision ii came out long before the computer adapter. There's other clues as well, like the revision on the orange label. Some might even have 1983 molded in the plastic. BSRSteve
Put my extra copy of Body Slam! Super Pro Wrestling up on eBay, but forgot to put "Intellivision" in the title: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303136863364 Also put up a shrink-wrapped copy of Intellivision Rocks that I found at my house, which is now redundant as well (This is a 5-day auction). https://www.ebay.com/itm/303136852853
+Lathe26
... a shrink-wrapped copy of Intellivision Rocks... A little off topic, but was the name "Intellivision Rocks" an inside joke that originates from the Your Friend The EXEC days? I doubt it, but thought I'd ask. Is this the same guy who posted the regular intellivision as a TutorVision Pro with the $1000 BIN? I'm really hoping this isn't gonna be a trend, like "rare" and "launch edition". I know there were several "FCTVVO" Poker Blackjacks put up for auction after I sold a NIS one for over $100. I think at least one didn't even have the keyboard component text on the front.
