Nobody deserves to be called "human garbage" simply because they have a different opinion, and that's all I have to say on that matter without the discussion devolving into a total flamewar. The truth has more value than people's feelings. Observe the rules, or suffer the consequences. The rules are there for a reason. Don't expect others to make concessions because of your "special situation". Do not overturn morality in favor of peoples' "right to choose immorality." And in the case of the country, don't expect everyone to pay for some crap that YOU happen to want/need. Anyone who does not value the above principles, I call garbage, in the sense that they are most definitely detrimental to society. I do also acknowledge that they are human. This is what my statement (that you obviosuly took offense to, though none was intended) is referring to. It applies here because we are once again being asked to "bend the rules" and make some "special concession" for someone who CLEARLY has proven time and again that he does not respect the rest of us enough to follow the rules. I don't think anyone would mind if he did, as long as the new persona isn't a dick like the old one. It's not like there's money or property at stake. Also, look I've known this guy since 1990, and lessons like this are a rare treat for him. He was a clever kid, so people cut him slack for being stubborn and petty. I can't think of anything MEtalGuy66 has ever said that would qualify as "trolling", unless you include in that definition everybody who doesn't give you the kid gloves treatment all the time. I'm delighted that "AtariSki"/"Diva16" are gone for good. They might have brought something positive to the forums here and there, but it had long since passed the point where the negatives far outweighed the positives. Perhaps we're all at least slightly eccentric in our own way, just for being so interested in decades-old computers and consoles, but there comes a time when one's "eccentricity" exceeds even the most patient person's threshold, and you just don't have any choice anymore but to throw them out the window. I can think of about six other members who probably need to meet the ban hammer, too, but that's just an opinion because it isn't my decision. In fact, Im fairly certain that NOONE shares my specific viewpoint where "political issues" are concerned.. And I do not fault anyone because of it. I do however place the utmost value on personal, sociological, and organizational rules and restraints. Because without them, we truly would all be nothing more than animals.. I'm "a little troubled" by the fact that you think anything Ive posted so far is "political". I havent mentioned any names of political organizations or politicians. I have not made reference to any specific events from the "political arena". I do MAJORLY DISAGREE with people who do not see the value in the enactment/enforcement of rules and regulations.. In fact, I'm SICK AND TIRED of them and the socialogical problems they have created every place I look. I happen yo enjoy this forum and do NOT want to see it become yet ANOTHER such place.. Last I looked, however, that doesn't classify me under any specific political entity or popular political viewpoint. And this thread has everything to do with someone who (grossly and repeatedly) broke the rules and was therefor subjected to the consequences. I'm not in the habit of using language as direct as his (unless the person is really begging for it), but I can appreciate people who speak with honesty and who tell it like they see it; frankly, I think the world needs more of them. Why, the Liberal Human Garbage Group, of course (or LHGG as we like the call them). The influence of this noble body can be felt everywhere in modern society. That's why it's such a glorious world we live in, where everyone's just as talented and intelligent as everyone else, no-one can be rejected or excluded from anything, risk is intolerable and is being gradually eradicated, rules are really "guidelines", and everyone's allowed to mess up at least a hundred times before they start running out of second chances. Fortunately, in accordance with LHGG guidelines, we'll be obliged to hold a full and open enquiry into the banning incident, and the ejected member will be entitled to handsome compensation on grounds of discrimination. In fact, since he had two accounts, he'll be entitled to double compensation. He'll also receive counselling... meanwhile, we'll be obliged to endlessly debate the lamentable loss of playground slanging matches on the forum. Seriously... I'm glad we have at least one person here (MG) who's not afraid to say it how it is, and I sincerely hope we don't spend another 1K posts pointlessly discussing how we could have done things differently.
