Exactly what PARTICULAR GROUP are you referring to.. I'd sure like to know, since I did not specify any such group.. Why, the Liberal Human Garbage Group, of course (or LHGG as we like the call them). The influence of this noble body can be felt everywhere in modern society. That's why it's such a glorious world we live in, where everyone's just as talented and intelligent as everyone else, no-one can be rejected or excluded from anything, risk is intolerable and is being gradually eradicated, rules are really "guidelines", and everyone's allowed to mess up at least a hundred times before they start running out of second chances. Fortunately, in accordance with LHGG guidelines, we'll be obliged to hold a full and open enquiry into the banning incident, and the ejected member will be entitled to handsome compensation on grounds of discrimination. In fact, since he had two accounts, he'll be entitled to double compensation. He'll also receive counselling... meanwhile, we'll be obliged to endlessly debate the lamentable loss of playground slanging matches on the forum. Seriously... I'm glad we have at least one person here (MG) who's not afraid to say it how it is, and I sincerely hope we don't spend another 1K posts pointlessly discussing how we could have done things differently. There must be better things to talk about... I believe this humorous take on the situation hits the nail on the head, and I'll second the message contained here. Although MEtalGuy66 might have chosen to be a little less frank, I don't think he meant to offend anyone, just to point out that people have to be held accountible for their actions. Unfortunately, those most offended by these ideas tend to be the same people who want to live in a conseqence free world (and also interpret a particular political alignment where there was none intended)... Let that be a lesson to people who attempt to "win" the argument by devaluing other people. I hate that, and have enough self-respect to push back on those that do it, and expect nothing less from anybody here. Not admitting ANY fault didn't help matters any. The way I see it is this: Not admitting any fault, and devaluing other people isn't going to end well. A little of that is ok, just like most anything is ok. Forums are fun for the "poking of sticks" that happens from time to time. That's not what happened here. Post after post was laced with barbs aimed at people, whose only crime, was simply not taking that shit as given to them by Atariksi. I'm one of them, and I'll roll with the best of them any day of the week, taking my lumps when called out proper too. I didn't like the PM's demanding that I make a apology for having a little fun with a sentence, or that my ONLY choices were to submit, or be destroyed essentially. Seriously you may be asking? Yes. Not in so many words, but the intent was clear. Not ok. I won't speak for the others he abused, but I gave the outs CONSTANTLY. It would have not taken much to make it all go away easy cheezy, and rather than do the human thing, that I see people here do every single day, he would abuse, devalue others, bully, and generally just get extremely shitty while claiming moral high ground while doing it! Sorry kids. Fuck that. I can take a lot, but it's got to be a give and take, not just a take and take, and that's just how I roll. I've been on the ugly end of things and know what? I sucked it up, did the right thing and made amends and grew from it, better today than yesterday. We've all been there, and it's not pretty, but it's necessary. Well, this is what happens when we get there, and we don't face it like decent humans, and that's all I'll say on the matter. BTW: I'm socially liberal, which means I don't hate over anything. Gay, black, white, dumb, old, young, you name it. It's all good. Retro gamers come in all kinds, and I like retro gamers. If you are a retro gamer, well then you are in one of my favorite places, and among people I really like, and that's worth having your back in the hopes you have mine. The only place in on any political front, Ive heard socialist used recently is where one side is accusing the other side of BEING socialist.. I havent heard anyone openly claim to BE socialist.. He deserved to be banned for being a total ******* and ruining what could have otherwise been good threads. I do think he was making AA look bad by association. Yes, we should have not fed the troll so much, but I don't think many people were really egging him on per se. Just trying to talk reason and logic with him, and he would continually be abusive back to people. But, as I said, that's far in the past (let's say a century ago). The effects of socialism then was great. Nowadays socialism isn't needed anymore, at least in the western countries, and it's just another part of the establishment (at least in many European countries), and we're far too rich anyway now. They are definitely not the same person; they are friends who share computers. 2. I don't believe any official warning was given to either person.
