Arkhan
I got this nice lot I've played a few games. I want Tron Solar Sailer. Can anyone suggest some epic games that they don't see in the above haul? I generally like spaceship games where you blow stuff up. A Star Raiders kind of game would be neat. I think I have one? I haven't gotten to playing all of them yet. I played Deadly Discs for hours though. Also, I need Astrosmash. I'm kinda pissed I didn't get that. Anyone have it? Rev
Very nice haul, how much was it? The Super Pro decathalon is your rarest/most valuable game. Ive seen it upwards of 100? I suggest getting Popeye, Beauty and the Beast, White Water, Frogger, Burgertime. My peronal favs. Also try Space Armada. There is a great homebrew called Space Patrol, it is a little pricey now but very worth it. And yeah, Astrosmash is a great game as well, i might an extra one, i will check. Arkhan
I paid 175$ for the whole lot. I heard Utopia is rare also. I noticed, Astrosmash on Intellivision is slower than Astroblast on atari 2600. Why is that
jaybird3rd
Nice lot! You have a few gems in there: among others, I notice a boxed Thunder Castle and Super Pro Decathlon, both of which are collector's items that go for some decent money on eBay. If you like space shooters, definitely get Astrosmash, and I would also recommend Dreadnaught Factor. I'd also recommend AD&D Treasure of Tarmin (it looks like you already have the first AD&D game, "Cloudy Mountain"), Snafu, Shark! Shark!, BurgerTime, Bump 'n' Jump, Loco-Motion, and if you can get them, Tower of Doom and Diner. Most of these games are relatively common, so you should be able to build up a decent collection without spending much money.

I noticed, Astrosmash on Intellivision is slower than Astroblast on atari 2600. Why is that? Utopia isn't especially rare, but it's a great title for the Intellivision. All in all, you definitely got a great deal for $175. Astrosmash might be running slower because it was started on a lower level of difficulty: on most Intellivision games, you have to press the DISC at the title screen to get the fastest/hardest setting. The keypad keys are for lower (and usually slower) settings.

jaybird3rd
I've played a few games. I want Tron Solar Sailer. There's an eBay seller offering a loose copy for about $15: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140488988309
Arkhan
I haven't played Astrosmash yet. I just watched Youtubes of it and it was sleepy looking compared to Atari 2600. I'll have to jack up the difficulty
+save2600
Super Pro Decathlon is a $20-$30 game all_day_long. I just sold one for $25 in fact and I think Atari2600.com even sells it for $18. Box/manual obviously add to the price though. But as far as some good suggestions, I'd recommend you stay away from the games that are better played on other systems. Popeye quickly comes to mind. Yes, it's a great conversion, has the background music (that starts over once you snag a heart or whatever), but you'll end up getting frustrated because of the controllers. Intellivision isn't necessarily a twitch or fast paced gaming system. Intellivision IMO by and large, is a system best left to its exclusive games. Some quick thoughts: All the sports games are pretty good, especially Bowling and Skiing. Astrosmash is a must. Beauty and the Beast and Atlantis are great. Thunder Castle is pretty good and really shows off the systems capabilities. Pac-Man is fun for a bit and shows how superior that conversion was for the time. Centipede and Defender are so-so. Chip Shot Super Pro Golf is excellent. Utopia is a blast if you're into sim games (but you'd better find a friend to play it with, or control both players yourself). Tron Deadly Discs is a must-have. Pinball is excellent. Q*bert is actually really good despite in spite of the control pad. Pretty easy to control actually. Snafu is a blast. AD&D Cloudy Mountain and Treasures are great. Donkey Kong is fun, as is Jr. Locomotion and Happy Trails are really fun. Burgertime is stupendous. Shark! Shark! is great. Demon Attack is a great variant of the 2600 version. Dragonfire and Pitfall! are games best played with a joystick on the 2600. Lady Bug, Lock N Chase and Mousetrap are all great challenges. White Water is okay for a different kind of Intellivision experience. I absolutely love both of the baseball games and Sub Hunt and Sea Battle are pretty cool too. Oh and the Las Vegas Poker and Blackjack is incredibly fun too. My favorite card game on any system.
jferio
I would add to the recommendations to get a copy of Bomb Squad for the Intellivoice. This is one that I am on the lookout for myself, since I played my friend's copy. Space Spartans and B-17 Bomber are also good to pick up for the Intellivoice. The only regular Intellivision game I'd recommend you track down would be Burgertime. It plays pretty decently in spite of the controllers. Arkhan
Theres some other game I remember seeing with a big green V or something in the middle of the screen. What was that one.
Ransom
Intellivision IMO by and large, is a system best left to its exclusive games. +1. It's a great console, but games designed with its unique controller firmly in mind are the ones that are most enjoyable.

Atari2600.com doesn't seem to have Decathlon in stock any longer. Was the copy you sold a loose copy? Boxed copies are much more expensive. I agree about games that are better played on other systems. The Intellivison is a unique console, and the exclusive titles are the ones that really shine. Fortunately, many of them are also among the cheapest games for the system.
Arkhan
Space Spartans is one I need. Thats like Star Raiders only better. B17 Bomber doesn't look like my kinda game though. Vectron, is that one any good? Also, I don't like sports games really. So lets just assume we shouldn't suggest them. I like Tennis though. Tennis is good. Boxed copies are much more expensive. Yeah, it was loose and agreed. I hadn't seen Arkhan had a boxed copy of it. I edited my comment to reflect a boxed example would fetch more - DOH! I must have purchased the last and only copy of it from Atari2600.com. Got it home, played it for a bit and then quickly yearned for some Track and Field on the 2600 Mashing the pad on the Intellivision didn't sit well with me and I like the 2600's gameplay and mechanics of using a joystick or the real T&F controller better. Arkhan
Oh well that answers that. What about defender style games? Anything? I mostly like Star Strike and tron so far. Space Armada is cool but hey, its space invaders. The other DnD game is next on my list. I'm hoping to find it today at the game store. tz101
Also, I don't like sports games really. So lets just assume we shouldn't suggest them. I like Tennis though. Tennis is good. Most sports games on INTV are two player only (no AI built in) so are best avoided IMO. Unless you have another INTV fan close by, they will be impossible to play. Suggestions: Dreadnaught Factor Beauty and the Beast Shark! Shark! Burgertime Lock N' Chase
+save2600
Oh well that answers that. What about defender style games? Anything? Nova Blast is supposed to be okay, but it looked reaaaaal boring on this YouTube vid I saw recently. I would think Defender is much better. Hoverforce, while oriented differently, might be your cup of tea. I haven't played it in a coons age though. And yeah, you said you don't care for the sports games, but an FYI to anyone what might not know: All of the Super-Pro versions offer single player mode with some decent AI. @all: is Space Patrol available on cartridge or just the .bin? Who here actually owns one? I love Moon Patrol and am wondering how this plays...
Arkhan
What about defender style games? Anything? Sure. Defender! Sweet. Add that to my list. I guess the closest Berzerk game I will be playing is Tron Deadly Discs?
