Who is opening it? :)

That's why I went for a loose one as well. From the looks of the picture, seems like we were part of a very small club. Most went for sealed.

But even if it had not been an option, and I would have been stuck ordering a sealed one, I would be ripping it open the minute it got in my hands anyway and tossing the box and manual in the trash!

Guys, loose cart collecting is liberating!

:)

(no offense to box collectors as I admit they do look really nice on shelves)

I received mine yesterday as well.

The cart label is really nice.

I was able to play it this morning. I was concerned with the comment made about a "rolling screen".

No rolling screen on mine.

Definitely a very early prototype. Not very much to do at all in the game, and no sound.

But, nevertheless, absolutely amazing that it was ever found.

So I noticed mixed feelings about ppl opening their boxed game and ppl that leave it sealed.

Which do you mostly prefer? Is it worth it in the end to leave it sealed?

I think I got mine yesterday, will find out when I stop by my parents house after work....still debating if I should open it or not, lol.

Got mine in the mail on Friday! Didn't get to open the package until today. Awesome work all around, though I haven't tried out the game yet. My Atari is still packed away.

I intend to open my sealed box and try it out when the time comes. Games were meant to be played. :)

I opened mine, and it appears that yes, this is the same version. Just as described at atariprotos: no audio and game freezes after kite collision with flying object.

Seriously people, it's shrinkwrap. Use a razorblade and some medical gloves if you're that concerned. I understand collector value, and how these get viewed/priced, but for god's sake enjoy the game, or at least the joy of opening it! There's always going to be those few people who leave an NIB for collector value, but this whole topic is enough to drive ya crazy!

Razor blade=CIB no Razor Blade=NIB

I collect Atari games and up-collect till I have them NIB, why would I open a game with very little play value and freezes?
