New Pinball Arcade from makers of Williams Collection

Any word on the Xbone version? It still hasn't gotten all the Season 5 tables, last I checked.

There are a lot of people asking about season 5 tables for xbone on their facebook page. Farsight keeps giving the same reply... "We do not have a release date, but we are working to get them out as soon as possible."

Only saw a couple people asking about the Wii U version on facebook, with no replies from Farsight. The Wii U subforum on pinballarcadefans.com is pretty dead too. I suspect xbone will get new tables before the Wii U.

Steam has Seasons 2 and 3 for $10 each right now.

Seasons 1 and 4 are $20 each.

Wish they could do some kind of cross-buy deal, and update the WiiU version, because I really like it on there. But the DX9 version is fine, although the controls feel a little laggy...probably just my imagination though.

Farsight has shown time and again they care more about mobile sales than console gamers. No excuse for console users to have to wait months or even years for updates. Still no Wii-U release in PAL territories so I'm doubtful if we even get updates on the North American Wii-U app. I spent $120+ to buy all four season passes on day one. The lack of a season 5 pass on Wii-U when it was available on other platforms is also unacceptable IMO. Nintendo has offered presales on Mario Kart 8 content so there's no reason why Farsight shouldn't do it. It's been over six months now without updates.

And when Switch comes out, do I have to spend $150 rebuying all the content all over again? Sorry Farsight. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

Yep!

I thought about taking advantage of the PC Steam sale, but then I remembered how much money I have already given them... I'll pass.

Yeah, it's kind of a crap deal that they seem to be abandoning so many platforms. Maybe it's a good thing that the 3DS version probably won't happen, although just having Arabian Nights portable would be awesome enough.

From what little I've read, seems like they just bit off more than they can chew, and don't have enough programmers to spread themselves so thin.

Nope, apparently not my imagination, but there's a simple fix for it =) http://pinballarcadefans.com/showthread.php/6365-If-you-re-experiencing-flipper-delay-in-TPA-PC-version-please-read-this

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks like Stern Pinball Arcade comes out this week on digital and in a couple of weeks on disc for the PS4 and Xbone. Looks like they want $40 for 4 tables.

Okay, they're getting too dang greedy now. I'm not throwing them any more money until they update the Wii-U app...

All right, fair enough. Feel free then to go spend $4500+ on a Star Trek Pro, and $6800+ on an AC\DC Premium.

Hm, now that I put it in those terms, spending $40 on digital versions of current machines that are still being licensed and manufactured doesn't sound so bad after all.

Does anyone know how many tables will be included in the physical release? Their website shows more than just what's on the front cover, including Starship Troopers, High Roller Casino, Ripley's, Last Action Hero, and Phantom of the Opera. Unless it's stated elsewhere (PinballArcadeFans is a bit vague right now), my guess is there may be more than four tables on it.

So is the Stern app coming to OSX or iOS or ar the tables coming to Pinball Arcade?

According to their website, yes, it will be. http://www.sternpinballarcade.com/

I haven't seen any official list of the tables that will be included. PS4 digital release is supposed to be today, so will see what's available this afternoon and exact table pricing. The trophy list is already posted and it only shows 8 MS Frankenstein trophies for the base game.

PS4 physical release is Nov. 28th and info that I've seen says the disc will have: AC/DC basic & premium, Star Trek basic & premium, Mustang, and MS Frankenstein for $40.

Some of those tables are already in TPA, I wonder if they're getting some sort of updates. The "Stern Challenge" mode sounds pretty cool, Midway Collection has something kind of similar.

I'm hoping Seasons 1 or 4 go on Steam sale for Black Friday/Cyber Whatever, I've really been itching to play FunHouse on the big screen @_@

Where is this info?

The list of only four tables/variations on the physical disc was mentioned a few times on their facebook page and pinballarcadefans. Nothing official from Farsight, only from fans, so it may be based on the cover art?

The PS4 version is now available on PSN. Base game with MS Frankenstein is free.

$5 DLC tables are: Phantom of the Opera, Last Action Hero, Starship Troopers, Ripley's, and High Roller Casino. (all were previously available in Pinball Arcade)

$10 DLC tables are Star Trek premium and Mustang premium.

$20 for AC/DC premium.

But, there are also two bundle packs at $20 each. First bundle is AC/DC, Star Trek, Starship Troopers, and Ripley's. Second bundle is Mustang, Harley Davidson, High Roller Casino, Last Action Hero, and Phantom of the Opera.

The pricing doesn't make sense. Why would anyone buy AC/DC premium at $20 if it's part of a $20 bundle? Harley Davidson is only available in bundle pack 2? Also, the PSN descriptions don't mention if the basic versions are included with any of the more expensive tables.

This could be the tipping point for Farsight. No matter how good the table is, $20 for a single table is a hard buy. And yes, the $20 bundles versus $20 individual table makes little sense. I would love some ACDC pinball but it's doubtful I ever get to play it since I have no plans on getting a PS4.

These stern tables should have been premium addons (separate from season packs) for the main TPA app. Why splinter the fanbase?

Yeah, the "Stern Challenge" seems the same as "The Williams Challenge" from the older Pinball Hall of Fame packs. It's nice to see it back again.

I'm crossing my fingers people are just jumping to conclusions based on the cover art. With the pricing scheme of the downloadable tables, it's about in-line with the physical release price and it makes me want to think there's going to be more on there than just the four on the cover. Of course, we won't know for sure until FarSight actually says something--every online listing I see just has some vague, generic information and nothing about the actual included tables.

Because it's easy? You could have asked the same thing of TPA itself when it first came out (why the repeats from prior collections?).

That's different though. TPA didn't exist when the Gottlieb and Williams collections came out. The Game Cube collection was a fine piece except for a minor bug in the golf themed table where the ball could get permanently stuck forcing an exit and loss of score.
