VBXE, Pre-Order thread...

OK, I have tried searching for this and can't seem to find a good answer. Perhaps because I am simply out of luck.

Living in the US, what if any options do I have for feeding VBXE output to my modern LCD TV? I have the following inputs: S-Video, Component, YPbPr, HDMI. I do not have scart, RGB or VGA inputs.

This looks promising: http://www.jammaboards.com/store/rgb-to-ntsc-pal-tv-converter-pcb-cv-04.html

I don't know a whole lot about the various standards - would using VBXE but then converting the RGB to S-Video eliminate the image quality benefits of the VBXE?

Thanks!

You'd lose some quality - I've got a similar convertor that I've used with mine to capture video.

But it'd still likely be noticably better than the S-Video you get from standard Atari and significantly better than RF.

Best bet - get an Amiga 1084 or Atari ST monitor (with ST you'd need the 13 pin DIN female plug @ the VBXE end)

Next best - get a 15 KHz RGB to Component (Y Pr Pb) convertor, then you could use the component input on your TV.

Do you have a wiring diagram for one of these (as in which wires out of the Atari feed into which pins in the female plug)?

VBXE (NTSC/XL) for Sale

OK - Hate to do this, but after assessing how much free-time I will likely have over the next 8-12 months, I have decided to sell my newly aquired VBXE. I have not used it or started installing it in any way. I was one of the lucky first ones to get it from Sloopy, but I am just not going to have time to do anything with it.

It is the NTSC and XL variety. I will ship you exactly what I got from Sloopy. According to his directions, it will also need a <$2 oscillator from Mouser. I'll provide you with the link.

Price is the same as what I paid: $150 shipped anywhere in the US. $160 Internationally. Because of the nature of the sale, I can't provide support, etc. You will get exactly what I got from Sloopy along with my good wishes - nothing more. :)

First person to PM me will receive instructions for payment. I can accept PayPal or Google Checkout.

If I get no takers in the first few days, I'll put it up for sale on eBay as a Buy Me Now.

Note: Please DO NOT order this from me and cancel your order with Sloopy. That would be totally unfair to him. This is for people who missed the chance to order before and/or those who want a 2nd (or 3rd) VBXE.
