farquh
I'm looking to buy one of these carts for the 2600. I found 2 on ebay that are both from Australia. One says that it is PAL format, the other does not specify. Question - was Double Dragon released in North America for the 2600? Follow-up question - will PAL 2600 games play on a 7800? I know that there is different hardware required to play Nintendo PAL carts, but does anyone knw about the 7800?
+FujiSkunk
Question - was Double Dragon released in North America for the 2600? Yes. Follow-up question - will PAL 2600 games play on a 7800? Mostly. Depending on how intelligent your TV is about adjusting to nonstandard refresh rates, you may see a good picture, a rolling picture, or nothing at all. If you see a good picture, be aware there are color differences between how PAL and NTSC do color, so the colors will look a little off. But the game will otherwise play fine. KevinMos3
IMO you should hold out for a NTSC cartridge. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find. There are places to buy besides ebay and you can get it complete in box for less than $30. Also, you might consider getting this hack put on cart (shameless plug) : http://www.atariage....ks-in-progress/ It doesn't mess with gameplay, but makes the graphics look a lot better in my opinion.
