(NON-RANKING) points for 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th place, to help crown the ATARI 2600 KNOCKOUT KING! 1st + 8 2nd + 4 3rd + 2 4th + 0 Players scores will all be counted... noone will be KO'ed, rankings can still be altered etc... BUT those who lost in a K.O. round cannot be considered King of 2600 or Knockout champion. Just so I understand the scoring, is each game worth 15 points (for first place)? If so, then what are these bonus points? Is a "+8" awarded for each game? If so, then I think this adds a bit too much weight to these games relative to the rest of the games we've played in the KO series. I think it also adds a bit too much for finishing 1st. Will 1st place in an individual game get 23 points, 2nd gets 18, 3rd gets 15 and so on? With four games in the finals then there is already 60 points up for grabs. Confused... yes...! Hmmm...I disagree with this part then. I think it is cool to have everyone participate for the "weekly" points (15,14,13,etc.), but this is a KO competition and it is down to the last 4 finalists. I think we can use the 8, 4, 2, and 0 (or 4, 2, 1, 0) for how each of the finalists place relative to each other. We can decide how to deal with ties if they arise, but a tie could happen with any scoring system when 4 games are being played. Maybe, I am still unclear of what you are intending. Yup i may have to simple this stuff up... The final 4 might need to only compete with themselves in the Knockout final part of it... without alteration by the competiton. I just figure it would add some more drama and tension to the Knockout... hmmm, I been going back 'n forth on this... Also, for what it's worth, I wouldn't want any of my scores to affect the final four players. The final four have played great, been consistent, and earned their way into the finals. They deserve to have the final battle to be just between them. I've been a big game show fan since I was a kid. I think the analogy would be Jeopardy vs. Family Feud. I always liked Jeopardy, because the player who stinks the whole show can be mathematically eliminated before the Final Jeopardy question. It makes the body of the show more important. When Family Feud gets to the final round and "The points are tripled, so anybody can still win!", it makes the first twenty minutes of the show irrelevant.
