Gunstar
Irgendwer's uses more appropriate colors too. Philsan, I like it, but there's that one issue, "could it be run again?" Just forget you already tried a dozen times to get it as good as it is!
+Philsan
I prefer Irgendwer's colors too but that's because source images are different (and smaller images are easier to convert for Rastaconverter). I would like to have Irgendwer's source image to try remove right arm stripes, if possible. EDIT. Found Irgendwer's source image, it's not a photo but a painting, I'll work on it but it seems not easy to improve it. Here's my source image, converted. miker
This one looks doable (yeah, again from C64): https://demozoo.org/graphics/201090/
+Stephen
This one looks doable (yeah, again from C64): https://demozoo.org/graphics/201090/ Not looking very promising. I had to really crank the saturation to get rasta to even recognize the colours in the top right. I'm thinking this one would be much better suited for G2F and a talented pixel artist. Not posting an xex - also no point in letting this one run any longer.

+Stephen
Here is my attempt. The picture on the right is the original source image. Damn - missed this post until now. Did you do any pre-processing on the image or just adjust some settings in RastaConvertor?
+Philsan
What I don't like about C64 images, is their vertical resolution limited to 200 pixels. A8 images can be up to 240 pixels.
José Pereira
What I don't like about C64 images, is their vertical resolution limited to 200 pixels. A8 images can be up to 240 pixels. That isn't really a problem. Just throw it over a 320x240 black solid picture so that it'll after has 20 on top and 20 at the bottom while picture shows at the middle. The same could be done for images that horizontally have widths different than 320pixels.

The same could be done for images that horizontally have widths different than 320pixels. I know, it's not a problem to center images. I mean that A8 160x240 overscan images are better than 160x200 images, especially on real hardware. Therefore I prefer Atari 160x240 images over 160x200 (centered C64) images.

Only the usual: resize & crop and adjust Rasta. The secret to my success lies within the comment Philsan left regarding C64 images. A direct 1:1 pixel ratio when converting. A direct 1:1 pixel ratio when converting. My mistakes were ramping up the saturation in the original image then trying dither on Rasta, rather than playing with parameters to make it find colours in the original image. Gunstar
I am still having trouble with Rasta. Can someone do this one? Thanks. God-Emperor-Trump-Float-Italy-1.png Sorry, but I don't even want to attempt this, it's too grainy and blurry and to get the whole thing in would make it too small for any detail in the resolution used. Bad angle, bad lighting, bad everything on that one...can you find another image of the same "statue?" But I think no matter what it's too ornate and colorless to make a good conversion with any image of it. I suppose not unlike some of the Diesel/Steam-Punk stuff I've done, so maybe, with the right angle and lighting, etc., etc. Edited March 28, 2019 by Gunstar
