Thread is from 2012, just buy an actual 2600 that has been modded. There are some here in the marketplace now.

 

I second this. There are a variety of original modded Atari and Sears 2600 consoles for not too much money. You can take your pick from composite, S-VIDEO, HDMI, etc. That would get you 100% compatibility. I would also recommend a modded 7800 instead, since that's still right up there in terms of compatibility (still better than a modded Flashback 2/2+) and you also get the benefit of the 7800 stuff.
