Crackpots

We're infested! A bug barrage is swarming out of the sewer, chomping away at every building in town. Entire neighborhoods are now crumb piles! Over in Brooklyn, Potsy, the rooftop gardener, is defeating his beloved building with his only weapon - potted petunias. Be a good neighbor. Help him take potshots at the insect invaders... Quick! When too many bugs crawl into the windows, they'll start eating you out of house and home!

This game is tough. Been awhile since I tried it, will be interesting to see if I can get a groove like I did yesterday for Battlezone. I like the bonus points too. By the way, great job on modding this time man, you're doing it right. Sure, it's nice to see all the cascading notes and pictures Zero would post, but you're checking scores and updating the list regularly, which is by far more important.

@ NIKON,

My goal in Crackpots is to reach at least 75,000 points as a Reference Score for Patch Challenge (The Activision Crackpots).

The Special note presented above is based on the game Boom Bang (the Variant of Crackpots). I played it only to know this game and I scored 1 million points ONLY to see what happens: the numbers are replaced by the bugs symbol, as shown exactly at the bottom of the screen. Here is the screenshot of game Boom Bang, which I found at www.atarimania.com (2600 system).

@Vocelli: Crackpots wasn't released in PAL-land - but I own "Kampf dem Steinfresser (Boom Bang) from Quelle. This should be the same game with different colors and minor graphic-differences. Right?

If no one has a problem with this request then I will honor it.

I never played Boom Bang. I assume it is exactly the same.

BUT... If there is some varient that makes the game easier then I have to disqualify it.

Any comments from players who have played this variation?

uh oh watchout..looks like there is going to be a rollage score in this one...welp that does it for me...no point in playing this one.

No one is going to roll it. My best score is 500k. Eventually your concentration breaks. It is a very, very difficult game to one life complete basically. After the second level of spiders drops you, it gets more difficult exponentially, and past that, it gets impossible. This is literally a two life game.

JUST FOR CLARIFICATION:

Boom Bang is EASIER than the Activision Crackpots at Level 8 - justly the highest wave (in this level, you score 80, 160, 240, and 320 points for each bug killed by the flowerpot, depending on the movement of the bugs). So, DO IT A FAVOR: DON'T play Boom Bang to submit your score on this contest.

There you go.

Scores from Boom Bang will not be accepted. Sorry.

Please use emulation.

And this can be verified???? And if so how would one clarify it so that there is no doubt as to this claim.

I for one would like a comparison video for clarification.

We could integrate a "bonus-round" for Boom Bang this week. Would be cool.

I am not into emulation, and I have never played any version of this game.

This game is listened at wwww.atarimania.com as "the same game as Crackpots with

another title".
