I finally stopped procrastinating and got the DPC+ version of this finished enough to post. It's not perfect, but at least it's working without obvious bugs slapping you in the face. Instructions and files are in the first post.

Here's a stupid question for you...

Does this game work with Paddle controls?

Nope. Joystick. I just updated the first post to make it clear.

Great to see a new version of this.  I'll have to play it after work though... Pesky job!

Thanks.

I think this will be my last larger example program. The code is just too much of a mess to be useful. I'm going to stick with the smallest example programs that I can make from now on. For anything this large in the future, I'll keep the bloated code to myself and just turn it into an actual game.

Philsan made a PAL60 version yesterday. It's in the first post.

After watching, maybe the game doesn't stink as bad as I thought. It just needs a few adjustments and something to make it less boring.

Random Terrain,

I think you have one great game going on there. On the Atari 800 Breakout, I loved the scrolling levels, as well as the extra balls that were let free from the wall.  Beautiful looking game.

Yup, this is still my favourite bB game because of the smooth subtle effects, makes it feel more like the arkanoid type games I played on PC as a kid
