The first four listed are very difficult to find.

I myself am also look also these and CX401. I understand one or more were not released for long and most copies were early ones given for promotions and alike.

Some of these are difficult to get pictures of - let alone ATR's or the actual package.

If anyone has pictures of CX402, CX403 & CX412 - could you post them as im eager to see what to look out for!

b) CX406: https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Atari%20Personal%20Financial%20Management%20System

c) CX412: https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Atari%20The%20Dow%20Jones%20Investment%20Evaluator

d) Atari Home Accounting System: https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Atari%20Home%20Accounting%20System

g) the remaining: https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Articles#section-Articles-Applications

Results:

We have all in pd, please see the links above, just:

a) is completely missing, but I know 2 users in the US, who own them and have already proved that. Maybe we can crowdfounding this?

c) I highly doubt this box ever existed! There is no trace, no picture, just ads and announcements... nor more...

are missing and we have preserved those values for the generations who follow us.

@KLund1: does that mean, you have CX401? It requires(!) a 815... ;-)

Two questions on PFMS:

  1. The "Blank Diskette (Model CX8100)" on atariwiki is actually Caverns of Mars.
  2. Why do you want to put PFMS on a DD disk?

If you omit DUP.SYS on an ED disk with DOS2.5 is sufficient.

I fumbled around with 2. today and came quite far but failed miserably trying to initialize a data disk; probably due to 1.

;)

Hi DjayBee,

1. it is both, there are 707 sectors free if you take a look under DOS II 2.0S, anyway it is from the original disk...

2. You have to switch many times the disks, this is not user friendly, to get it smart, it would be cool, to have 2 DD drives on which the 1st holds all(!) programs.

Keeop on going... :-)

The data disk does not need anything initialized beforehand. Attached is an SD-disk with only empty sectors which worked as a template to intialize the (also attached) first data diskette.

FInd also attached an ED-disk with the complete software and in standard DOS 2.5 format without moved VTOC/directory.

I have not yet tried to implement this version with a moved VTOC/dir. It might also fail the initialization of the data diskette.

This seems(!) to work but I did not try anything besides initializing the data disk and calling the ENTRY from the KEEPER, which accepts the data disk.

Changing the software to work with D2: for the data disk will be some work because all file names in the BASIC code are in "D:FILENAME" format´ and therefore lack the needed character for the "2". So one cannot just patch the image but needs to load the source, change all the strings and save it back again.

And even then I guess that the initialization of the data disk needs to be done in D1 because it obviously writes directly to the sectors since it creates the VTOC and directory.

Here is a version on a DD disk together with a working first data disk.

There are two versions:

- Patched DOS to work with the moved VTOC/directory of the original disks

- Standard DOS

BUT:
This version always runs against error 161 (too many open files). Increasing the number from the standard three to the maximum of seven did not help. The attached image allows for five files and at least does something.

Perhaps somebody else can take over now and find the reason.

Furthermore find attached a patched DOS 2.5 which can work with the original PFMS SD disks.

Hi DjayBee,

Thank you for your work. At the moment, I really don't get the point of your work.

In the Wiki:

https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Atari%20Personal%20Financial%20Management%20System

we have published everything so far. If you make a print out in a text file and open this in an actual editor and search for: "D:", it should highlight all occurrences. From there on, it should be done. All disks are 1:1 copies from the original disk, therefore, Caverns of Mars was on it! The same as a pinball and a flight simulator were once in MS Office. Doom in PowerPoint I haven't verified yet.

To sum it up, 2 things have to be done:

a) adapt the soruce code for the use of 2 DD disks without the need for disk swapping

b) clear up the false calculations in the code, so the results are reliable and the software can be used

Much work to do, of course, but I always wrote, that my main focus is and must be on first of all to digitize all programs on magnetc layers, because the data won't last forever there...

2nd: I have received so many programs already, which are not on the Wiki, due to lack of time. As of 2017, I am 1.5 years behind of deliveries, I received. Therefore, please don't worry, if can't upgrade the site very soon. But you are invited as an author to Wiki and do it on your own.
