marx
Hello! I would like to make "Ultra Video 1.0 XE" mod for my Atari 65XE. Unfortunately, tutorial is based on Atari 130XE, and I wonder is there any chance to apply it on 65XE? Maybe somebody already did this, and could share his experience in this topic? The things which are most interesting for me, are the location of parts to replace (resistors/capacitors). Maybe someone could paste some photos of this mod ? I would be very thankful for any help. With greetings! MarX
mimo
have you looked inside your xe yet? it may have a 130xe motherboard with only the lower bank of ram installed. easy upgrade to 128k ram if it is!
marx
Yes, I have looked inside this Atari. I wish it could be a 130XE based motherboard, but it's not . It's a rev. C1 motherboard of Atari 65XE. Edited November 14, 2013 by marx
marx
I finally found location of all parts which should be replaced in my Atari 65XE motherboard (thanks to flashjazzcat for sending me a pack of schematics). The only problem is the 1N4002 diode. It should be soldered in place of R205 resistor. But I have no idea how it should be positioned on Atari 65XE motherboard. It can be soldered with the silver stripe (cathode) directed to the top of the motherboard, or to the bottom side (please take a look at the attached picture). Can somebody tell me, what is the right position of this diode ?
