I have a Sewer Sam that is in the middle, anyone have one that is on the side? The first editions of both games (with colour instructions and overlays) do have the cart holder in the middle. The 2nd editions on the side.
+JasonlikesINTV
Neat, I'll have to check all of mine now. I just did a check on all of my Imagic copies to determine the rarity of the tabbed Imagic tray variation: Approximately 1 in 5 of mine are the tabbed variety. I can't say I haven't ever swapped any that were in "better" condition, so I might have mixed these up in the past, but notable ones that had the tab version were Fathom, Truckin, & White Water. My guess is that it was the way later games came....as an upgrade to the original tray.
Intymike
Imagic Tray variation Top.jpgBottom.jpg It seems that the later Imagic games missing the back on the trays. My Fathom copy has such a tray.
+JasonlikesINTV
It would be cool if we could determine where the cutoff was on these Imagic boxes, or just which originally came with these if it was random. I'm too burned out on variant hunting to undertake it now, though. Sealed games would be a great start in determining this....

+SoulBuster
No no no.....you can tell without opening the box The variant ones have an indent for the thumb that should be on the bottom. Should be able to see it without opening.

Intymike
Now there are variants based on where the cart is located within the box? It's more for the colored instructions and overlays. The different cart holders are a side effect. Until cmart confirms that the different positions have nothing to do with the 1st and 2nd run. That would explain why so many copies on eBay never have overlays.

Intymike
Did the second run (black and white manuals) NOT come with overlays? That would explain why so many copies on eBay never have overlays. I own from both games each a colored and a b/w version. Both games with color instructions came with overlays and have the cart holders are in the middle. The b/w variants of the games are without overlays and the cart holder is on the side. From the outside there is no difference to tell. For further infos someone with more copies has to tell us his observations..

dcasa
I love the B-17 Bomber back cover with Translation and Pronunciation columns. Very cool. Thank you for sharing! Yes, that was very handy, when I was a kid the Intellivision manuals actually encouraged me to learn English, all titles were edutainment to me
sharkcharmer
So I have this international bowling, but it doesn't have the slits: It doesn't look like you scan the back of boxes, but if you want it anyways, lemme know, and I'll send it to you. Thx -
+intvsteve
That would be great! I realize there haven't been many updates to the site lately. Hope to find some time in the not-too-distant future.
+JasonlikesINTV
Today I received a variant of Bump 'n' Jump that I previously didn't have. So far, I have these variants: 3 of the 5 box variants (missing Digiplay and the Intellivision Inc that does list 'for 1 or 2 players', but lacks the barcode on the bottom) 1 of the 3 overlay types (missing Digiplay and Red ones) 4 of the 5 cart label types (missing Digiplay) 2 of the 4 manual types (missing Digiplay and Map-style folding ones) ...but I found a top staple manual with thicker stock paper variant (sorry, no pics for now, but remind me later) I know, I know....this is huge It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Carry on!

Troy_Whelan
I have been comparing my overlay collection to the site, and I have several overlay variants that are not listed. These are not after market overlays, these are variants that were distributed with the actual games. I will try to scan them when I have time and can remember, otherwise I will post a list of the variations I noticed missing. Troy
+intvsteve
Great! I have culled some variants that imo were just different color intensities, but there are probably lots of different ones still out there.
