CPUWIZ
Hello, I just assembled the very first production board of BBCQ, which gave me an idea. Would people be interested in participating in a little Q.C.? I send the cart to person A, person A tests the board, reports the make, serial and year of their system and their result. Then sends it off to person B on the "list", and so on. Does anyone think that is a good idea? If you lose it or break it, you'll be banned from AtariAge purchasing one and publicly humiliated. J/K One post wonders need not apply and since nobody even offered to lend me a PAL system, this is for North America only. Thoughts? P.S. This is all hinged on Bob's approval, of course!

Lynxpro
I'm in. Shouldn't there be a stipulation that each person take out a certain amount of insurance via USPS/UPS/FedEx/etc just in case they misdeliver the item to the next person? What other stats should be used? Types of controllers used, types of TVs or monitors used, mods or stock, etc? phattyboombatty
I have an original 1984 release and a non-expansion port A series, and I live right here in the California Republic! Willing to test and ship.
iesposta
I would like to test. I have 2 7800's, both modded. One I call Serial Number X because it was the last production run of 7800's and it will not play Beef Drop, or Scramble. It was modded to remove that new circuit that allowed Dark Chambers 2600 to work, but which killed Supercharger, Robot Tank. Those both work now. It has the easy (and free) composite mod with a transistor and 3 resistors. I bought an older one so I could play Beef Drop and Scramble. That one got the LHE s-video board mod. I also have 2 CRT's (RCA & 2005 Sony WEGA) SD sets, an Acer Projector, and a 57" LCD - all with s-video & composite.
Lynxpro
I have an original 1984 release and a non-expansion port A series, and I live right here in the California Republic! Willing to test and ship. NorCal here! My original 7800 from 1986 is in storage but I just bought a 1987 model on eBay that's ready for action [w/o expansion slot]. Non-modded. Multiple ProLines and one Golden.Axe NES control pad modded for the 7800 ready to test. No CRTs to test with at the moment but I have a 42" Sony Bravia HDTV and an Insignia 25" HDTV to test with. Mayhem
Likewise, I have PAL and NTSC systems here, and I figure you can trust myself and Gambler enough CPU (I would have offered a PAL system but I only have the one currently)
PacManPlus
That sounds fine to me. I just need to find a good source of inexpensive Pokey's and then I can start taking orders.
Stun Runner 87
How Much will this game be costing on cart? I imagine it will he pricy, but well worth the purchase. Sign me up Bob......
gorfcadet
I would give it a spin on my two 7800s. One is a later model that hates certain 2600 games; the other has the interface port so its pretty early.

CloakandDagger
Mine doesn't recognize paddles in 7800 mode (e.g., Crazy Brix doesn't see them even with the difficulty switches set). But it does recognize them in 2600 mode (e.g., Kaboom works).
AtariBrian
I will have to double check mine again with kaboom and other games to be positive .

Shipping across the pond is also expensive.

+Mitch
since nobody even offered to lend me a PAL system, this is for North America only. I just realized I never got back to you on this. I need to dig out my PAL 7800s, remind me if you don't hear anything from me in the next couple of days. Mitch
CPUWIZ
No worries, I bet Bob has a compile switch for PAL, maybe he can send me a BBCQ POKEY @ $0400 PAL version, I'll build one without a POKEY and send it to you (since you are a member of the secret society).
