I suspect the other mod might be a sound one, either to get pseudo stereo or provide an proper audio output or it is a composite video out. Might be worth plugging it into your hifi? The gals suggest something more complicated is happening however than just stereo or video out, as these can be taken straight off the monitor pins without alteration to the appropriate socket (afaik). You could probably find out by checking which pins are connected against a pin out diagram for the monitor port.

You are not the only one who has found PC Speed in an STFM. See the download here

and the thread on Atari Forum here

I take it the card is working? The on/ off switch was probably connected to two pins on the board , you might be able to replicate it by putting a jumper on them or wiring in a simple switch.

When you say no floppy software, what do you mean exactly? The programs in that zip should be able to configure and start the emulator, you then need MS DOS to actually run any PC software.

AT Speed is different to PC Speed btw, you'll probably need to use the right version for your hardware. PC Speed was a basic first model PC hardware emulator, whereas AT Speed was a 286 (there were two versions, one at 8mhz the other at 16mhz) emulator.

What i mean is the at speed software is not there on atarimania.

I hope someone has more software.

But thanks for the great help.

Hhhm I'm sure I have this somewhere, I have a AT speed (8mhz version) somewhere, but it doesn't seem to have yet been backed up onto the PC. If you can wait I'll have a look at the weekend and see if I can upload it to Zogging Hell (might as well make an update while I'm at it for the first time in years!)

Ok this is funny and I didnt realize you could run Windows 3 with AT-Speed. This is in the README file - anyone do this?

24. With AT-SPEED you can run MS Windows 3.0 in Protected Mode (this is called

Standard Mode within Windows 3.0). But this is only possible with an ST

which has 2 MB or more available RAM!

To install Windows 3.0 you should note:

The files AUTOEXEC.BAT as well as CONFIG.SYS may not be altered with the

installation, so that SMARTDRV.SYS will not be installed.

Ignore the automatical manipulation with 'CANCEL'. After the installation

you must add the line in your CONFIG.SYS file:

DEVICE= \HIMEM.SYS
