5200 HSC Season 7 Round 2 Koffi- The Yellow Kopter

Our game for round 2 is Koffi The Yellow Kopter. Play on default level 1-easy setting. Emulation is allowed as are custom controls. A8 port will be allowed as it's a port of the 5200 game and does not play any different. ( I have both) Pics preferred, but not required except for HSC records.

maybe some insight on how to play this game.. i cannot find any kind of manual anywhere...I do not understand this game...so far all I get is to move a yellow copter around the screen...no indication as to what I am supposed to be doing.

Ok, the short version as I understand it...

 

The angry cloud is setting the trees on fire. You have to collect the water drops and fly to just above the trees to douse the flames. Press fire button to drop water. This only buys time as the fire grows again. You have to ram the cloud with your copter to make it flee after a number of hits, but also have to dodge the lightening from it. The more green left on the treetops when you beat the cloud, the more points.

 

In my testing, I only played the first 2 levels.

You guys are really hitting this game hard! :thumbsup:

That's because when you find out how to play the game...and it has the concept this game has...yea people are going to "hit it hard"

 

I loaded this game once in the past and had no idea what to do...once I found out through this round of HSC competition I liked it...it is a different game where it has real world content. I find myself playing it for hours without realizing how much time has passed.

 

My hat is off to Cafeman for creating this game.

I see AA doesn't have the manual. I was looking around and found the original verbiage for Koffi's Manual. Here are explanations of Difficulty settings and how the scoring works, fyi.

  1. Difficulty Settings

 

Easy – this setting is recommended for beginner Koffi: Yellow Kopter players. You will find that you get plenty of water with the rain & snow, that Pyro is easier to defeat, dangers are fewer and slower, and the fire itself spreads slowly. Additionally, you get a bonus animal to rescue at the beginning of each stage.

 

Normal – this setting continues to give the same amount of water per raindrop as Easy does, but the fire spreads at a faster speed. Other game settings are set higher, too. For example, Pyro moves faster & shoots lightning more often, plus he takes more bumps to defeat. Dangers are faster and appear earlier.

 

Hard – this setting is for real Koffi pro’s. You get less water rewards and have the same fire spread speed as in Normal mode, so water management is much more important here. All the game settings are set more difficult than in Normal mode, including Lightning frequency, Pyro’s hits and speed, fireball speed, wind strength, and Chaser’s speed which gets quite fast. Hustle Koffi, Hustle!

 

 

  1. Points and Extra Tries

 

Your score appears at the top left of the screen. The current High Score for your gaming session is in the middle at the top of the screen. The number of Koffi Tries you have is at the top right.

 

Koffi is all about getting lots of points! As you play the game, you may find ways to maximize your points on each completed stage. Here is a quick run-down on points & scoring:

 

Hitting Pyro 5 points

Defeating Pyro 750 points

Rescuing an Animal 500 points. How many animals can you find in the game?

Hitting Pyro’s Mom 5 points

Defeating Pyro’s Mom 1,000 points + bonus Koffi Try

 

Water Bonus +5 points for each water unit left at the end of a stage

Tree Bonus From 0 to 500 points, depending on how much of the tree is

has NOT been burned up. Can you get the 500 points?

 

Bonus Koffi Tries are awarded at each 10,000 point interval, and also each time you defeat Pyro’s Mom.

I have a question about this game...does anyone know???

 

Sometimes when I'm trying to put out the fire in the trees, I can't...when I press the fire button I only get a short burst of water then it quits. Even repeatedly pressing the button doesn't do much good as it seemingly spurts water sometimes, other times it doesn't. (and yes, I have lots of water)

 

Is this a feature of the game because the fire has gotten too high? Although it doesn't seem to happen on a consistent basis or when the fire has reached a certain height.
