ComputerSpaceFan
I might get me a driving controller for the 2600 and I'm reviewing this list of titles that support it. I was wondering if there were any other games, hacks or w.i.p. titles that also use the driving controller? I stumbled across this video of a breakout style game called Reflex that looks as though it might also use the driver? Anyone know? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR6qrlLbxTw

Crimefighter
Now if someone would hack Pole Position to use a driving controller...
Thomas Jentzsch
Now if someone would hack Pole Position to use a driving controller... Wouldn't work, way too low resolution. A paddle maybe, but even there you are missing centering. So driving a straight line would become a nightmare. Greg2600
Hey so the other day I put Thrust+ DC, Sprintmaster DC, Omega Race DC, and Asteroids DC on my Harmony Encore, and the only game in which the DC worked was Sprintmaster? Did I have difficulty switches in the wrong place or something?
Thomas Jentzsch
I can't remember exactly, but have you tried the right port for the DC? IIRC the left port is still for the joystick.
Greg2600
Hmm, well that only partially worked on Asteroids, shooting and steering work with the DC but not the thrust (obviously) had to use the joystick for that, which is pretty pointless. Omega Race and Thrust do not steer at all. Edited February 25, 2015 by Greg2600
Thomas Jentzsch
Hmm, well that only partially worked on Asteroids, shooting and steering work with the DC but not the thrust (obviously) had to use the joystick for that, which is pretty pointless. These hacks are meant for people who customize their controllers. So that you can use both simultaneously. Also for Asteroids you can play e.g. the shield variations quite well without moving at all. Omega Race and Thrust do not steer at all. The Omega Race hack allows using both controllers in the right port. For using the driving controller you have to change the right difficulty to A. For Thrust the original version does not support the DC. So you have to make sure to use a ROM with "+" in its name. The missing functionality (thrust, shield, loading) is still on the left joystick. This variation makes only sense with a customized joystick setup. Originally the game was sold with a footpedal. This setup also works for the other DC hacks. Greg2600
Ah, I didn't know that was the purpose. Thanks anyway!
